Here is a portion of the story:
Specialist Dr. Richard Ferkel of the Southern California Orthopedic Institute examined Hawes over the all-star break and recommended removing the boot.
Hawes tweeted that he had landed in Philadelphia late Monday afternoon and he “couldn’t be more excited the boot is now history.”
Hawes, a fifth-year pro who’ll become an unrestricted free agent in July, has missed 20 of the Sixers’ 34 games this season. The Atlantic Division-leading Sixers are 12-2 with him and 8-12 without Hawes.
