Allen is a driving force for Sixers

Here is a portion of the story:
The 6-foot-9, 255-pound Allen has surprised even his coach.
"I was scared to death we weren't going to have enough big guys to win during this (seven-game) homestand," Collins said. "Lavoy was a Godsend. I was shocked. I did not expect him to go out and do what he's doing right now."
Vucevic is healthy, but hasn't played in the last two games. The main reason is Allen.

Published a FanPost about Lavoy about a week ago and he’s done nothing to make me retract anything I said. He did his job against Orlando, defending Howard and fouling him while preventing some easy buckets. I was at the Bulls game last night and Lavoy looked great in every aspect of the game.

If he keeps this up...
He’s going to play himself right into the starting lineup.
i doubt this but i do believe he’s done his fair share to steal time from nikola. while nik is the Wight version 2.0, lavoy is the anti-hawes who loves the banging down low but doesnt sacrifice the ability to knock down that mid-range jumpshot.

And you fail to mention...
Lavoy is doing all this while playing out of position. He’s a PF.
yea but to keep it in perspective there are only about 5 true centers in the entire league. most of them are true 4’s playing out of position lol

That’s not true at all. Yes the line between C and PF is becoming increasingly blurred but that doesn’t mean a player isn’t better suited at one of the two positions. Lavoy Allen is clearly fitted to play the 4. That’s not to say he shouldn’ t ever play the 5, but ideally the most of his minutes should be at the 4.
he’s a good matchup at center in alot of situations because there is a lack of true centers. 5 was comedic hyperbole but you will be stressed to find one after howard, bynum, gasol 1 and 2, bogut and i’ll say chandler has grown into a true center. so while he isnt a center, neither are alot of guys after the starting units have left the floor.
