I can’t wait to see what happens when Lin has to play with Melo.

Here we go...
I want the Sixers to win tonight. That’s obvious. But almost more than that, I’d just like to see them play well again. Enough of these crappy or inconsistent performances.
On another note… I need to rant. I’m so tired of the Lin / Knicks. It’s just so unfair. That team was practically dead and buried. I think he’s a good player, and I love the story. I’d like to root for him, but I just can’t do it. I passionately hate the Knicks / Knicks ‘fans’ / NY fans. It seems just like when the Sixers were really proving themselves as a legitimate team, the whole Lin thing had to happen and ruin it all. And since then, the Sixers haven’t even really played well. Really frustrating. I understand the Sixers are still doing better than the Knicks, and I can enjoy that right now, but I’m not sure how long that’ll last the way both of these teams are playing. It is worth noting that the Knicks have had the easiest schedule in the NBA so far, I guess.
/end rant

I’ve already done a lot of ranting on it so I won’t right now but I do have a question for everyone would the guy that got fired by ESPN for the headline be unemployed right now if he had written the “chink in the armor” headline if Lin wasn’t Asian? Also maybe I’m a a-hole but I thought it was funny
The Legend
If Lin wasn’t Asian, I don’t think the writer would have used that title.

didn’t think about that but I’ve heard that phrase used before with people who aren’t Asian you’re probably right though

Sure, but I doubt they would have randomly applied it there.

No, he wouldn’t, because “chink in the armor” is a phrase used in everyday life. So had they used it for a white person, it is a non-story.
ESPN also suspended Max Bretos for a month for using that phrase on the air on ESPNEWS on Wednesday, which I find to be a complete over-reaction. I saw the video of him using it, and for the life of me, I could not find any malicious or punny intent on his part. That suspension was just ESPN covering their own hides because the video had made its way around the internet. Max Bretos did not do himself any favors by playing the “I have an Asian wife” card.
Editor at SB Nation's Philadelphia Union blog, The Brotherly Game. Follow me on Twitter.
I saw that video too & I agree complete over-reaction, something I’ve been wondering is if Lin starts next year & doesn’t do nearly as well if we should still write in pen him as a starter for the all star game because there were years when Yao was injured & he was still a starter because all of Asia voted for him. If that happens & Lin doesn’t deserve Stern better do something about it
The Legend
I think Lin is the long term may actually be hurting the Knicks. With Melo and Chandler they have the personnel to eventually challenge for a title, but D’antoni is a terrible coach and Lin saved his job. In the long term the Knicks would be scary with a real coach.

agreed. and he needs to stop taking long twos while he’s at it. He is fully capable of breaking down his man, getting to the mid-range and hitting the J. I’m not sure why he settles sometimes.
This is an aspect to his game that Igudala doesn’t really have, and sets Turner apart. I would really like to see this from him more often.

The Raw chamber match is right now & it is CM Punk(champ) Chris Jericho, Kofi Kingston, The Miz, R-Truth, & Dolph Ziggler(who I think is the next star in wrestling)

I tuned into a random Royal Rumble match few years back; about 15 guys in the ring, fake punches and kicks all over the place. I think at that particular time everybody got tired at the same time, and guys were just resorting to the fake chop block. It was quite possibly one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, friends and I laughed out loud for a good 1/2 hour. Needless to say, I tune in everyone once in awhile for the lulz. Great stuff.

anywho, they shouldn’t have a ppv between Rumble and Mania. In fact, they should just go back to 4 ppvs. it slows down the storytelling, which would be a positive.

Rebounding numbers even, and sixers have 1 more oreb. Not sure if that’s a good sign or a bad sign. On one hand it’s good that we’re even, on another hand it’s bad because you’d think Minnesota would start to pull away in that stat, and we’re only up 5.

If the thinking is that you want your bench to match up with the other team’s bench at all times, it makes sense.
It ain't rock, it ain't roll, if we don't disagree
But like, why would that be your thinking?
by Michael Levin on Feb 19, 2012 5:20 PM PST up reply actions
It’s like in baseball. Let’s say your 4th starter is awesome. You’d want him to go up against the other team’s 4th starter every time it was possible. It’s a huge advantage. If you think your bench is that much better than the other team’s bench, you’d want to maximize that advantage.
That’s a way I could justify it.

I’m just saying that could be a justification/devil’s advocacy. Regardless, who would you sub out? Vuce for Lavoy maybe, but I’d want Jodie’s shooting.

I watch a ton. I actually wrote a post on NBAPlaybook earlier this year on how good Rubio’s defense has been. I’ve been a Rubio fan since he was 15. I don’t really need to be lectured on his defense. It was a quick post to state that I disagreed with the posters assessment. That was all.

There are about 30 fanbases who complain about refs in 80/100 games. I see it everywhere I go, including Canishoopus.
The refs are out to get everyone.
It’s a hard job. Bad calls happen to every team.
by LanceArmstrong_LIVESTRONG on Feb 19, 2012 5:44 PM PST up reply actions
no
this happens every game. We’re on pace to set a league record for least free throws attempted in a season
It's style of play then.
Like I said, everyone complains about refs giving games away to other teams. You are no exception.
by LanceArmstrong_LIVESTRONG on Feb 19, 2012 5:46 PM PST up reply actions
This game alone I can count 4-5 times when either Jrue or Lou Williams has attacked the basket, absorbed contact and not gotten any foul called…
It isn’t the style of play, we really don’t get too much respect from the refs. It’s whatever but its obvious.

We will see.
If the Wolves were in the East they would be a shoe in as a 5 or 4 seed. Too much talent on that roster.

and you don’t think that has anything to do with the fact that miami and chicago are killing everybody?
It ain't rock, it ain't roll, if we don't disagree
That's only two teams. Look at how everyone else fairs against the West.

look how you’re proposing a subjective argument in order to rouse everyone else. this is a troll argument. You are a troll.
"If Iguodala were a legitimate "true" 17 PPG scorer, we’d be a better team. When at least 8 of those points come off the fast break, his true offensive production is a reality: 8-11 PPG." - LeQuan Glover
oh goodness
dont be that guy. Looking at the standings..the East has 5 bad teams and the west has 3, the ones at the top are overrated, including your Wolves.
looking at the boxscore
you’d think that Pekovic is a superstar with how many foul calls he’s gotten
Holiday = new closer?

It’s come to this. The T-wolves get bailed out by the refs? I’m getting tired of the NBA. I have loved the Sixers my whole life, but the reffing has been especially bad this year, and it’s almost not fun to watch anymore.

I need to take a step back and stop watching this team for a bit. They’re really bringing me down.
