Sixers shoot blanks, lose to Cavs 92-83

Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE

The Sixers dug themselves into a hole by shooting 17% in the first quarter, one in which they were never able to climb out of, and fall to the Cavaliers 92-83 in Cleveland.

They just couldn't do it.

They couldn't overcome a 13 point first quarter deficit where they shot 17%.

They couldn't find a way to manufacture offense when Jrue Holiday had an off night.

They couldn't keep the Cavaliers off hte offensive glass, couldn't make their open three's, and couldn't find a way to defend Jeremy Pargo.

This had all the makings of a trap game. On the road on the tail end of a back to back, after fighting so hard to come back the night before, against a team they beat just days earlier. But these were the Cavs without Kyrie Irving. Despite the makings of a trap game, you thought they could overcome it from the sheer talent differential.

But these are NBA players, and if you come out as lifeless as the Sixers did, they can beat you.

Cavs Leaders:

Jeremy Pargo (28 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists)

Dion Waiters (16 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists)

76ers Leaders:

Jrue Holiday (16 points, 5 assists)

Evan Turner (12 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists)

Full recap later tonight.
