“It feels good,” a smiling Holiday said after Thursday’s short practice. “I’m on Cloud 9 (and) I haven’t come down yet. I’m not sure what I’m going to do (to celebrate) my new contract. I’m just really happy.”

Holiday, who admitted that having the deal in place was a big relief after downplaying its significance Wednesday, said he didn’t sign the contract until 11:53.

“I went home last night and sitting in my chair, I was hoping and praying it could get done,” Doug Collins said. “I’m thrilled. There’s not a better kid in the world than Jrue Holiday.”
