"Wow, these guys look just like us"
These would probably be the words the 76ers mumble amongst themselves if they hadn't done their homework against tonight's opponent, the Indiana Pacers...
The Pacers, just like the 76ers, lack a superstar player. But, the Pacers, just like the 76ers, have a lot of guys that can get it done. The Pacers come in to the Wells Fargo Center tonight with all 5 starters averaging double digit points. Also like the Sixers, Indiana prides itself on defense, coming into tonight top 3 in the NBA in points allowed.Perhaps this is why they come in toting a Sixer-like 6-2 record?
Friends, Danny Granger and Andre Iguodala share similar frames and games. Opposing point guards tonight, Jrue Holiday and Darren Collison were together in the backcourt of UCLA just a few years ago. As if this isn't already scary enough, how about the fact that both squads come in with starting 7-footers that come into tonight's contest playing uniquely well for themselves.
Both Pacer losses have come on the road and the 76ers have won both of their home games thus far. The Sixers play to their depth (which is about 3, maybe four bodies) in the frontcourt to contain the much improved frontcourt of Roy Hibbert, David West, and Tyler Hansbrough. We will almost certainly have to let Tony Battie come in and grab a few hard-nosed rebounds and take a smart foul or two. Also, expect a lot of minutes from rookie Nikola Vucevic, who looked outstanding his last few outings. If he and Spencer Hawes continue their great play, Philadelphia should send the Pacers home with there 3rd loss of the season.
