Sixers pull away, pound Pistons in home opener
Story (with Meeks, Erving videos):
Here is a portion of the game story:
Meeks helped the Sixers to a 32-17 scoring advantage in the fourth quarter. They've outscored their opponents, 101-62, during the three-game winning streak.
Center Spencer Hawes turned in another fine performance. He had 16 points, 14 rebounds (and four assists) for his fourth double-double. Some fans responded by chanting "Spen-cer Hawes" in the third quarter.
"I don't know if anybody would've thought they'd be chanting Spencer Hawes this time last year," Collins said. "It was sure nice to hear."
