By letting seldom-used forward Andres Nocioni ($6.65 million current salary) and starting center Spencer Hawes ($4 million) leave as unrestricted free agents, along with using the amnesty provision on starting power forward Elton Brand ($18.2 million), the Sixers could trim their projected 2012-13 payroll to $41 million on eight players.
