"Bad Contract Big Man"  ??

What do you realisticly think we can get for Noci's expiring deal, anything useful?

Think we could get a "bad contract big man" Tyrus Thomas, Amir Johnson, Boris Diaw, Charlie Villanueva, Andray Blatche, Michael Beasley type and either give or get a pick or pick(s) in return? Is there anybody you would want them to get for him that is actually a possiblity? Don't say him for Dwight or Gasol (Those are just a few of the guys that have similar yearly salaries

I think if there was a big money player out there that Sixers would still be able to sign or trade for them even if we traded for any of the guys above. Amnesty Brand and trade Iggy for a trade exception or deal him to a team that missed out on a big name say a NJ or Bos possibly. I'm only doing a Iggy deal like that if I'm getting bringing in a stud (namely a Howard) Other wise I'd want a better return for Andre. If I'm wrong and that wouldn't leave us enough space, well then I dont' trade Noci's contract at for one with more years.

Why would I want a bad contract just a season+ away from getting rid of Brand’s contract?

It’s not that I want a bad contract. I’m looking for a guy who has talent that would be excited to play on our team and would be more useful to us then on his current team. Nobody would take any of these guys of there hands if it meant us getting picks as well?

Brand will be going into his final year next year. If they can’t land a big name why would you? No point. Expiring contracts have value (albeit not as much as they once had now that the amnesty exists) There is no point to amnesty Brand to sign some stop gap 7 or 8 million dollar PF especially since you would still be paying Brand 90 some percent of his contract. They could get that guy now for Noci & have Brand and him split time.

Had we not traded Speights I think his contract combined with Noci’s would’ve matched up enough salary wise for Kaman and his expiring deal. So would possibly could’ve had him to helping out up front this year

Cap room is the value I’m looking for in terms of Brand’s expiring. There’s a lot you can do with cap room other than signing a star player.

You couldn’t come up with enough in a trade to convince me to take either Villanueva or Blatche, and probably not Beasley either.

I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, there will be no trade for Monta!

diaw

I dont think you would want him, would probably ruin locker room chemistry because any post game food spread would be consumed by boris

What I am asking is, Is there a player in the league that is undervalued on his team, who has talent, and for whatever reason (bad coaching, bad team) isn’t reaching close to his potential. That we could essentially get for free (Noci’s expiring deal) that is worth taking a chance on.

Brook Lopez maybe? Or how about…Cousins!

ZERO chance of getting either of them of nothing

I was joking, but not in the sense that I want them on this team. Rather, in the sense that I want no part of them on this team.

noc’s contract is expiring, which to me, is not viewed as “nothing” but very valuable when you look at the obligations we have for the next few years. if i’m thorn, you have to give me at least two nocionis to pry that from our grip.

Varejao in Cleveland? He’d fit in.

Agree. Great defense, hustles – they’d want some picks though.

Chris Kaman. He’s on the block, he’s an expiring contract and a veteran presence in the paint. Lets at least throw on offer at him.

Love the Sixers, love the Cavs. Don't sympathize, we'll win a championship someday. Someday...

I read they want an expiring contract, a young player, and a pick

For us to get him we’d have to give up Noci, and I think at least 3 mil more in salary. So Vucevic (highly doubt they think Allen is acceptable) and someone else… Brackins

I’d do Brackins, Allen, Noci in a heart beat, problem is they won’t

They’re getting pretty desperate… I say throw a package of Vucevic and Nocioni at them and see what happens. I say they bite.

Why so quick to give up Vooch? He’s looked promising and Kaman’s not bringing us any hardware.

kaman is not playing like he did last year … or the year before that.

Beasley doesn’t have a bad contract

Not to mention that he plays more than half of his minutes at SF. And as bad a defender he is at that position he’s even worse at PF. And he’s just a bad player all around.

meant bad as in not expiring this season
