Poll: Game Thread or Twitter?

In seasons past, the Liberty Ballers game threads were a helpful online form of group therapy. The mood has been a bit more festive this season...so far. I'm noticing, however, that the discussion may be a tad bit livelier on Twitter, even amongst Liberty Ballers. There are pros and cons to both, but I'm curious what others are doing, mainly out of fear of being left behind with my Prodigy dialup Commodore Vic-20 Treo.

Especially as one of the blords, I feel the need to infuse game thread discussion with penis jokes and attract twitter followers on the side, also with penis jokes.

i check both on commercial breaks, which are quite less plentiful; kudos to comcast.

Love the post.

They both bring something different to the table. I try to do the live-tweeting thing from the blog’s account to keep it fresh, because I know you guys got it covered here.

The game threads have a lot more humor, pictures, gifs, inside jokes, etc. On Twitter, I try to use humor occasionally, but mainly stick with the actual game, to update folks who are unable to watch.

I usually talk to people (non-Sixers fans) in IRC and make comments in the game thread. I generally only use twitter for reading news and don’t converse with people on that often.

Don't have Twitter.

Don’t want Twitter.

I like coming here…where else would you get all this insanity that we enjoy on a regular basis?

I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, there will be no trade for Monta!

I’m on Twitter. I should probably do both but then there are a couple of reasons why I can’t. I do know where to get a good laugh though. You guys are awesome!

Both.

Twitter really enhances being a sports fan / following sports, IMO. I don’t understand how sports fans can be so against it.

This. Exactly

I didn’t instantly fall in love with Twitter, but I find it has four main uses:

1. Connecting with people you sell stuff to.
2. Spreading breaking news
3. Enhancing sporting events
4. Allowing fans to occasionally interact with celebrities they have similar interests with.

Of these, the sporting events enhancement pops up most often. It’s like watching the game with 816 of your funniest friends.

As for my vote, given that I’m a sometimes LB lurker and rarely-ever poster, I go Twitter. I added a few of you just now off your follow buttons. Even if I forgot to come to SBN, but went to Twitter for something else, I would get your observations and join the interaction.

Then again, I understand why you’d want to have an intimate conversation solely among people you know know what they’re talking about.

Still waiting for the Eagles to Bring it Home for Jerome.

When I went to the Temple-Duke game (I’m a Temple season ticket holder so I rarely make it out to Sixers games), I didn’t even notice the giant screen that shows the game live until the second half when my dad said “Look at the replay!” and pointed to the screen. I’m completely focused on the game at all times, I don’t like looking at a second screen while watching the Sixers.

Love the Sixers, love the Cavs. Don't sympathize, we'll win a championship someday. Someday...

Unlike you losers, I do neither. I watch the game in my basement while I’m ironing.
