After a full day of rest, the 76ers will host the Denver Nuggets tonight. This is one of the biggest games of the year. Winning this game could prove that the Sixers are a legit threat in the Eastern Conference. To the Sixers’ advantage, the Nuggets played last night which might lead to lethargic play on their part. Is it possible for the Sixers to thwart the hot Denver Nuggets?
Key notes:
It is uncertain that Evan Turner or Nikola Vuvecic will play in tonight’s contest.
Denver is ranked first in assists, averaging 24 assists a game.
Denver also ranks first in steals, averaging close to eleven steals a game.
The Nuggets almost ranks dead last in rebounds.
How the Sixers can win the game?
The Sixers cannot start the game slow. Particularly, Jodie Meeks and Jrue Holiday have been starting slow this year. If the Sixers want to win the game, they cannot afford to play catch up.
Controlling the ball is another issue. As the second best team in points a game (behind Miami), the Nuggets have been effective in scoring points off steals. The team with the least amount of turnovers, is the most likely to win this game.
Denver is not a good rebounding team ranking 25th in the NBA. The 76ers need to use this advantage to score as many second chance points as possible.
