Mock draft: Sixers could land Biyombo

http://ow.ly/5oh0U

read 'em and weep -- i nearly did writing this ...

Here is a portion of the column for Thursday's paper:

9. Bobcats: Charlotte hopes BYU's Jimmer Fredette will pan out better than previous Michael Jordan lottery picks Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison.

16. Sixers: Pleasantly surprised that he's still on the board, the Sixers grab Congolese big man Bismack Biyombo. He is NBA-ready on defense, where he's been compared to the Thunder's Serge Ibaka, but a work in progress on offense.

I like it, and I cannot wait until tomorrow

I’ll just post mine here instead of making another mock post.

Final mock draft. Had to make a couple of changes as some players dropped out. Interested to see how this plays out, but I think the 76ers are going big and I’m hoping that means trading up for Derek Williams (he would be perfect with Holliday and turner), or Biyambo or Vucevic falling to them at 16. I fall in the camp that has Biyambo going early and not to us.

I like Vucevic and would be very happy to be a skilled 7 feet taller after the 2011 draft.

Long shot prediction is that Marcus Morris falls to us at 16, and we have to take him!

My possible draft night trade is the 76ers trading back (if no bigs are on the board at 16 that we like) and grabbing Justin Harper (Johnny Flynn and minny’s 20th for the 16th).

Hear the Sixers are more than willing to draft a wing player if one they like is available, even with all of the ‘bigs’ out there.

Good to hear

Much rather have the team go with best value rather than most pressing need. Maybe they get a combo of both? (Bismack please)
