Over the last two weeks alot of rumbings about the Sixer Front Office unwillness to trade Andre for a high draft pick, obtain an expiring contract (salary dump) or use their 16th pick on a player who needs alot of development, although may offer big future upside potential. I even heard a rumor if Biyombo is still available, they would not even consider taking him. It is quite apparent that Doug Collins and the Sixer Front Office, wants to take a step forward, not a step back, even though he will prepare the franchise better for the future. We even saw this thought process before last year's draft by first taking two players in Nocioni/Hawes to help the team right away and drafting the most ready prospect in Evan Turner for thr upside, raw prospect in Derrick Favors. This is what will continue. I wouldn't be shocked if the team even traded their #16 pick if they obtained a veteran player who can immeditate help them. Barring that senario, look for the most ready prospects to be targeted by the team.
I have heard on multiple occassions, the team is seeking an athletic big man, a player who can draw fouls to get to the free throw line and more outside shooting. Throw in a player who can contribute immediately, I believe the team's #1 draft target is Motiejuntas. He fits all the critera. Houston is supposely very high on him as well, so who knows what will take place, but he is my projected pick for the Sixers on draft night.
As for Andre and if he will still be a Sixer by the end of the week, I say he doesn't get traded on draft night, but he will not be on the roster when next season starts. First, I believe the team will take a swingman with their 2nd rd pick, even may trade up in the back end of the 1st rd to secure one of their targets. Speights will be the player they look to rid themseleves with, maybe Nocioni, if they take a contract back. Kaman will not become a Sixer, Ellis possiblly might, if the Warriors decide to lower their demands, but a player like Martin from Houston makes more sense. Time will tell, but I think if Houston made him avaliable, he is the type of player the team would trade Andre for.
