Sixers about to take a look at some first-rounders
Here is part of the story for Monday's paper:
Monday, the Sixers, who are at No. 16 in Thursday's draft, have 7-foot, 215-pound Lithuanian center Donatas Motiejunas scheduled for an individual session.
Sixers director of player personnel Courtney Witte confirmed that Morehead State power forward Kenneth Faried, who led the nation in rebounding last season with 14.5, would be in Tuesday's group that could include additional first-rounders.
Asked if the Sixers might hold a private workout for a prospect Wednesday, on the eve of the draft, Witte smiled and said, "That's a nice shirt you're wearing."

Maybe I should’ve said “bigger” names. Witte said there will be more projected first-rounders Tuesday, but wouldn’t name them.
Any chance that they bring in Vucevic? I know he’s been steadily climbing on the mocks, and I think he may be exactly what we need. He’s certainly not the kind of player that people get excited about, but I see him as a 12+8 7 footer who can clog the lane, and I’d be perfectly happy with that.

1.) They did already work out Vucevic.
2.) 12+8 7-footer sounds exactly like Spencer Hawes. Hawes averaged 12.2 + 9.7 per 36 minutes last season and actually blocked more shots in his only college season than Vucevic did in any of his three seasons.

Well, I guess I’m hoping that he could stay on the court long enough to actually average those numbers, not have them to be his projected numbers if were able to. I don’t watch college basketball and, as such, don’t have much insight to any of these guys, but being as though he’s one of the only guys in the draft that has legit center size, maybe I’m reaching. That blocks stat does definitely scare me, though.

Supposedly he’s not doing any individual workouts.

His stock dropped after the EuroCamp. Now he’s doing workouts for teams.

In my world...
…He is going to magically slip to 16, and we pass him up to pick Jimmer Fredette, who has somehow also managed to slip to 16, because it makes more “basketball sense.”
Then, you know the rest…they trade Iguodala for Monta Ellis straight up, promote Lou Williams to starting PG (because he’s tired of coming off the bench) and we conquer the league with our Three Aces backcourt!!!
I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, there will be no trade for Monta!
In your world huh?
what the hell happen to jrue holiday? did he fall off the flat surface of your planet?
Since he doesn’t score 20+ ppg, he will sit on the bench or be traded for another high-usage combo guard who plays no defense….we must score at least 25 points per quarter to win…because bucket=stop=bucket.
(And you really need to pick up on the sarcasm here)
I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, there will be no trade for Monta!
Markieff Morris seems like a pretty safe pick to me. He seems like he can add some toughness and bang down low for boards. The only thing is he doesn’t seem to have the upside of these guys that are mentioned.
