What do you think of my All-NBA picks?

Get to vote for MVP, All-NBA and Most Improved this year.

Here's what I'm leaning toward, with Thursday the deadline to submit ballots.

Would like to get your feedback. Thanks.

A part of the blog:

As for Most Improved, it's the Timberwolves' Kevin Love over the Thunder's Russell Westbrook and former Villanova/Cardinal Dougherty star Kyle Lowry of the Rockets. Those three are producing more with increased minutes and have also raised their shooting percentages and other key numbers.

The most improved player is a debate I am really interested in and have not decided what side of the fence I am on yet. Do you reward the player who improved the most regardless of ability (like Love/Westbrook who were good last year but naturally progressed in their career) or do you give it to a player who may have had less improvement than a player from the other group but the improvement was less expected?

Good question. I’m going with guys who not only played more and scored/rebounded/assisted mote, but with ones who increased FG/FT/3-point percentage and other stats. Aldridge is a close fourth (they only want top three).

Aldridge ahead of Griffin and Duncan for sure

Have seen Grififn as high as second team. It’s tough because I like to reward the league’s top team and the Spurs have the best record. Duncan isn’t the player he was, but everything still starts with him in San Antone. Aldridge is having a very good year — can’t argue with that.

Griffin is a great young player, no doubt about it. But his team blows and he already made the all star team and is going to win rookie of the year. People will say, well he deserves it. Well he without a doubt is the rookie of the year ( even though it’s kind of under weird circumstances) and has numbers that make him an all-star but I don’t think he has done what Aldridge has who has gotten snubbed for the all star team already. Aldridge helped carry that team to the playoffs and is a go-to guy for them in post. Griffin does have better numbers, scoring just a little bit more and averaging about 3 more boards a game but he isn’t a go-to guy and doesn’t have the kind of impact and leadership Aldridge has who is on a much better team. Just my opinion though, I’m a huge Aldridge guy and hope he wins something this year. Duncan is one of the best power forwards of all-time, I won’t hate it if he makes an all-nba team at all but his numbers just don’t do it for me. Just think Aldridge should land some kind of spot but it’s tough out there in the west there are so many good players.

I’m not a huge Griffin guy. And you’re right that Duncan is almost like a lifetime achievement award. Aldridge is worthy of serious consideration.

Appreciate the feedback.

I think you got most of it down, but I feel like Dirk should get a first team nod. Durant is real good, but he has a lot more around him. Who does Dirk have? Jason Kidd is real old, Jason Terry is pretty solid and that’s about it. I think that whole team revolves around Nowitzki

I have Nowitzki in my top five for MVP. The Mavs really struggle without him, as their record this season showed. But Durant is hard to overlook. If not for the Bulls having 59 wins, he’d be my pick.

My vote goes to derrick rose for bringing the bulls back to the top which hasn’t been done since you know who was there winning rings while getting his golfer on.

Pretty much my take, too.

I feel like that’s not really a proper vote. Is it really just Derrick Rose? They have Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah. They’ve got guys like Ronnie Brewer, Kyle Korver and Kurt Thomas. No, not world beaters like Miami’s big 3. But Paxson and CO have finally spent the dough and spent the dough on the right guys.

The Sports Community universally said “If Chicago got a big”, well now they got it. Are we going to act surprised, so we can hand Rose this trophy on a silver platter? Really?

Why didn’t Durant get this treatment last year , when he developed his level of play to a LeBron James-esque level? Look at the stats across the board and even advanced, damn near the same in most categories.

Give Thibs COY, give Paxson and his management GMOTY. But Rose is NOT the MVP. The Bulls are well built, they can survive without Rose.

The MVP argument is tricky, but my MVP is the guy that a team can’t survive without. Durant was my MVP last year, he’d be my MVP this year.

Durant’s high level of play, becoming a damn near LeBron clone(the only difference is he doesn’t have Bron’s “point forward”) is what has propelled the Thunder the last two years. That, and I believe there shouldn’t be a monopoly on the MVP.

There are many players worthy of this award. Dwight Howard with the impact he makes on the game, the fact that he hasn’t won the MVP is a tragedy.

LeBron winning the award, what 3 times? Now do people understand why I want fans to vote? As long as ESPN touts someone’s high horn(Bron, Rose), they’re gonna win MVP.
