Where is the Love for Elton Brand?
When the Sixers first got Brand he was labeled all sorts of things, when the only thing wrong with him was that he was hurt. Eddie Jordan actually pushed him to the 2nd team. Stefanski was highly critcized for this move, but now that the team is successful, no one is talking about Elton.
I thought he would be the most loved Sixer by now. He shows up every night, he plays hurt doesn't complain and acts like a complete Professional. He is an East Coaster, and the Sixers are very fortunate to have him. He's made to play out of position and guards people bigger than he without making excuses or backing down.
No one even talks about him during the game chats. I don't get it, the only thing that Brand doesn't do is open his mouth, but he is clearly a leader on the floor and sets a great example with his work ethic and effort.
Elton is becoming my favorite Sixer for a lot of reasons. I'd rather see a post about him than another one about Evan Turner. Maybe some of you posters might stop sniffing his jock for a minute to talk about a real player, and the Sixers most solid performer.

We’ve talked about Brand pretty much from the start of the season, and heck there’s a lot of good things you can say about the guy. He’s one of my favorite Sixers as well. Thing is, you know what you’re gonna get from Brand, and we know where that conversation is going to lead.
A part of a discussion is that the discussion has to evolve, the Turner situation has a lot of question marks, hence you can theoretically discuss the situation. We know they’re not gonna move Brand, we also know that even if they would consider it, who exactly is gonna take him? 14/7 is not worth the 15-18 million he’s owed.
So the Brand “situation” really is resolved and there’s not much to talk about. We love him, he’s been great but beyond that what can we say? On the contrary, Jrue Holiday’s potential is unlimited and he continues to get better. Jodie Meeks, etc.
It’s just pointless to discuss Brand because he is what he is, and it is what it is.
Elton Brand has avoided injury this season and delivered a solid, dependable, consistent, professional performance.
His franchise crippling contract kept the Sixers out of the 2010 free agent sweepstakes, and will keep them out of the 2012 free agent sweepstakes.
If there is any type of “amnesty” to come out of a new labor deal that would allow the Sixers to jettison Brand, they should do it without the slightest hesitation.

But Evan’s jock smells sooooo goooooood.

I like Elton
But he’s paid like an all star so he should produce like an all star. 14 and 8 is solid, but for the amount of money he’s getting paid I would want at least 18 and 10. Yes he’s a good solid player for us, but he’s definately not worth the money.
