The top two vote getters were each third on their team’s in minutes/game. Thad and Lou were 5th/6th respectively on the Sixers in min/game.

I don’t understand the whole “6th” man thing if the winners always are starters in all but name only. If you come off the bench and play 34 min/game in place of a token starter who plays 17 minutes, how is that being a 6th man? Or is that what the award is supposed to be. consolation for de-facto starters?
