Next year's free agent class will be similar to last summer.
The Sixers can prepare now to be players in that 2012 market.
Most of the Sixers salary is tied up in Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand right now. Getting rid of these players before the beginning of the 2012 free agency period.
For Iguodala, he has worn out his welcome in Philadelphia. And Thad Young is a very good player, but he willget overpaid. To remedy these problems, I would send them both to L.A.
Sixers Get: DeAndre Jordan, Eric Gordon
Clippers Get: Iguodala, Thad, Speights, 2013 first round pick
The Clippers get two great compliments for Blake Griffin and the Sixers get a legit 2-guard and center.
Sixers Line-Up
Deandre Jordan
Elton Brand
Eric Gordon
Brand & Nocioni walk after the year, leaving the Sixers with a ton of cap room and and lot of young talent. They could go after a Chris Paul or Dwight Howard, but I believe those players want a bigger NBA market. I would go after Kevin Love. Add mid-level free agents and another year of draft picks added to the roster, the Sixers would be primed to compete.
Possible Line Up
Deandre Jordan (backed up by Nikola)
Kevin Love (Brakins)
Evan Turner (FA)
Eric Gordon (Lou Williams)
Jrue Holiday (Pick)
I know it's a lot of what-ifs, but is it that far-fetched?
