Holiday, a starter, and regular reserve Williams said they were sore and thought it'd be best to sit out as a preventive measure. Both said they could've played if the Sixers had a game.

The Sixers begin the regular season Monday in Portland.

"It's just a little sore," Holiday said.

Holiday also missed an evening scrimmage with tightness in the same hamstring 10 days earlier.
