Silas doesn't get to see Erving that much — though his dad and Dr. J go on vacations together — but he talks to Erving on the phone and sometimes gets tips passed on via his dad.

"We have a pretty cool relationship," Silas said. "One time when I was at Colorado, he called me on the Kansas game day to say he was going to be watching and play hard. He just encouraged me a little bit."
