Trade Idea

Philly fan here stuck living in the midwest, I have a trade idea for the Sixers that I would like everyones opinion and input on. David Kahn, GM of the Minnesota Timberwolves has publicy said he is shopping dominant big man Al Jefferson so, why not trade Andre Iguodala for Al Jefferson. I like Iggy but we have a athletic wing man who can defend, rebound, pass and score effectively with Evan Turner(just a rookie but I'm optimistic about him) so our 3 best players could all be peremiter players(Jrue, Iggy and ET). We could use a dominant post player as Elton Brand is clearly not the same player he once was and Spencer Hawes is a nice player off the bench but I don't like him as a starter. With Jefferson our starting 5 would be Jrue, ET, Nocioni, Brand(until M-16 takes this spot half way thru the year) and big Al. A really young core that as quickness, athleticism, great shooter in Andres and the best center in  the east after Dwight in big Al. Would love to hear everyone's opinion on why this would be good/bad move.

This trade woefully undervalues Andre Iguodala and over values Al Jefferson and his ability to play defense

Thanks, but no thanks. Al Jefferson isn’t the answer to anything.

I could’ve sworn that this was debated/shot down 100 times. Al isn’t a very good player when compared to AI9. Period.

Do the Wolves have cap space?

If so, why don’t you throw in Brand and Wesley Johnson in to the mix. If they can absorb the leftovers of Brand’s contract minus Wes’ contract.

So far Evan Turner isn’t doing anything to indicate that Andre Iguodala (only the Sixers best player) is redundant.

Like the others I am not sold on Al Jefferson. But if you’d be willing to take Elton Brand……!

It’s not a good idea because Al Jefferson is not good. Nowhere near the value of Andre (don’t call him Iggy). I’d want Wes Johnson and expiring contracts before I take Jefferson.
