Rumor Central: Clippers interested in Iguodala
The Clippers worked out Tracy McGrady due to a need for a veteran small forward. TNT analyst David Aldridge reports they are also looking at Andre Iguodala.
Aldridge writes: "Los Angeles has a need at small forward, with rookie Al-Faroqu Aminu not ready to handle major minutes. A league source said Wednesday that the Clippers have asked about Philadelphia forward Andre Iguodala, though there was no indication that Los Angeles has made or will make an offer for Iguodala."

Isn't worthy of it's on post but ...
Here’s ESPN RC’s blurb on Battie:
The Philadelphia 76ers signed veteran forward Tony Battie to a one-year veteran minimum contract on Wednesday.
“We see Tony Battie as a player who can come in and give us additional depth in the frontcourt while also providing a valuable veteran presence for our younger players both on and off the court,” general manager Ed Stefanski wrote in a statement.
“I’ve never been a guy who filled up the stat sheet,” Battie told The Philadelphia Inquirer. “I can bring a veteran presence and a veteran leadership.”
“It came down to about five teams,” Battie told the Philadelphia Daily News. “OK, I’ll give you the final two. It came down to Charlotte and the 76ers.”
Battie has career averages of 6.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Minimum contract = good. 5 teams interested = laughable.
Is there anythign you would want from them for AI9? The only thing I can think of is Eric Gordon and 1st round picks
I just tweeted that I’d begin negotiations by asking for Jordan, Gordon and two firsts. I’d settle for no less than Jordan and an unprotected next year.
Jordan and a first, or Jordan and Gordon for me. As long as they take all the cash which they can, I’m happy.
Yep. 110% sure it’ll never happen though. They’ll swap him for Baron Davis and Stefanski will pull the BBballsense nonsense.
I can’t think of anything making less Basketball Sense than taking back Davis. All he could possibly do is screw up Jrue.
Exactly.
-Can be confused with: Incompetence, Nepotism, Smearing rubbing alcohol on the next 3-5 seasons.
I’m a seer.

I think I posted similarly with you before – something like Jordan, Bledsoe/Aminu and 2 picks…..settle for no less than Jordan, Bledsoe and an unprotected pick, or Jordan and 2 unproteced picks. The nice thing is you get about an $11.5mil TPE that other people will value, esp nearer the deadline…facilitate multi-party trades, etc
All you need to know see from DeAndre Jordan.
There are numerous games with the same result.
Let the Jruth be told.

OW. Hey but he showed improvement by merely CLANGING the next one…
that was pretty ugly…reminds me of the beloved Sammy in the early days…..
yeah exactly ha, and the mix I looked at of him was just dunks. It seems that’s all he can do… I don’t really want him.
The only player I’d really want would be Griffin, maybe Aminu. But were not getting either of them I can almost guarantee that.
Let the Jruth be told.

Only if we got rid of Lou Williams.

pg-Jrue
sg-Gordon
sf-Turner
pf-Brand
C-Hawes
Lou Will doesn’t effect Eric Gordon, Gordon starts and Lou continues to come off bench.
That could work,
but I honestly think Turner is an NBA 2.
Let the Jruth be told.

Jordan plus multiple picks, I guess. They won’t give up Gordon. He’s their “young core”. They have cap space, so the Sixers shouldn’t have to take back crap.
Isn’t it sort of frightening that any relatively intelligent average fan could probably do a better job as GM than Stefanski. Admittedly, a lot of us would have made the Brand signing. But there have been some shaky moves and non-moves since then.
The thing is, other than hiring Eddie Jordan, there really isn’t one horrendous thing he did (some bad ones, like the Sammy deal and not getting anything for Andre Miller, but not horrendous). It’s just that there is no plan, no direction, no strategy. Just random moves that don’t seem to improve the team in any meaningful way, either short-term or long-term. Not even financially, except for saving Comcast a few bucks this year at the cost of future dollars.
Is there anyone here who seriously thinks this team will be “relevant” again by throwing a bunch of long-term money at a pricey-free agent or making a bad lopsided trade for one? Admittedly, I am not privy to his discussions with the Evil Empire, so I don’t know what constraints under which he operates, but you would think he would take any opportunity to reduce Comcast’s costs by moving whatever expensive veterans he can for young, cheap, high-upside players without taking back much toxic crap. It makes both financial sense and Basketball Sense.
How come we can see that and he can’t? He gets paid the big bucks to see things we can’t. But they’re supposed to be things that help the team.
Huh.

Agree with everything you said. I’m slowly coming to grips with the fact that the Sixers will not make a good move until Stefanski is gone.
Sad. It’s just sad. I plan on examining the devastation that has been the Ed Stefanski Era a little more closely in a more extended post. I want to compare it to the devastation that was the Billy King Era (post-Larry Brown, since King was basically Larry’s lackey while he was still here).
There are plenty of really solid GM candidates. One of them should be working here.
I wouldn't trade for Baron Davis
even if Brand was involved
The least that I would take is DeAndre Jordan and an unprotected 1st.
I can’t imagine LAC giving up Gordon for AI9
This is a playoff roster IMO
Kaman
Griffen
Gordon
Igoudala
Davis
If everybody stays healthy, yeah, they could sneak into the 6-8 spot. I picked them and OKC to make the playoffs last year — went 1 for 2. I assumed Blake Griffin would play, and everyone else would stay healthy.
Those five + Aminu and Bledsoe are a nice top 7.
A very nice 7 with tons of room to grow, if Baron is willing to actually play point guard.

This is how I see it:
1. LAL
2. DAL
3. DEN
4. OKC
5. POR
6. SAS
7. LAC
8. HOU
I left PHO and UTA out because they lost their PFs.
This is how I see the EC
1. MIA
2. ORL
3. BOS
4. CHI
5. ATL
6. MIL
7. NYK
8. PHI
Is the NBA the only league where more than half the teams make the playoffs?
Don’t see the Sixers making the playoffs this year. Not with this frontcourt, and not with Turner having to take this year to learn how to play the NBA game. Don’t have enough guns. I’m thinking:
1. ORL
2. MIA (their time will come, but not this year)
3. BOS
4. CHI
5. MIL
6. ATL
7. CHA
8. IND (I’m willing to consider NYK here also)
I also think whoever of IND or NYK doesn’t make it, NJN, and TOR are still better than the Sixers. Possibly even WAS, depending on how well Wall makes the transition to the NBA and some development from some of their intriguing young players (Blatche, McGee, etc.).
Sixers still seem better than DET, but that’s the only team I would say for sure.
Barring a major injury
I can’t imagine Miami not being #1 this year. Two years ago Cleveland won 66 games and Lebron’s supporting cast was Ilgauskus, Mo Williams, Delonte West, and Varajoa.
No.
NHL is worse, less teams (28?) and 16 make the playoffs.
Let the Jruth be told.

utah got nothing for all jefferon and no him and milsap can play together…utah will make the playoffs…..miami will probably be the 1 or 2 seed but probably wont make the finals and if they do the lakers will beat them nicely and idk but the sixers makin the playoffs lol and houston will probably be higher than 8 i think but good calls on chicago and new york but i also think milwaukee may be higher than atl
Richard Jefferson 4yrs/39 million
lol. I thought SAS was one of the more smarter teams in the league
…more smarter… lol.

I think LAC would….. would we? I think they were stuck at 8 and didnt what else to do… I am not a fan of Aminu – I think his ceiling is Thad Yound – we got one of those…
But I would look at him as an asset that maybe we can flip to someone else. for a pick or young’n …
Rather see if we can get Bledsoe maybe by sending a 2nd rounder back???
Well we could give them Thad and Andre, Take Aminu and a first-rounder? Idk how to get salaries to work, maybe throw in DeAndre Jordan…
Let the Jruth be told.

Igoudala isnt an aging player with declining skills
or an overpaid lazy bum. I don’t understand why people think they can steal him from us. Unfortunately he is the best player on our team, so we need to get more than scrub for our best player who is only 26.
But he has it in his mind hes a #1, which he isn’t. In order to get this team to be young and build from the ground up in drafts along with Brand, Iggy needs to go.
yea i think andre gootta go this year so we can grab another top 5 pick (enes kanter, perrry jones) and make a furture roster stronger….brand is brand he has to leave asap for multiple reasons lol…..and no iguodala DONT got #1 on his mind, we ask him to be it cuz hes unarguably our best player ….hes just doing what asked of him but what play dont have being the best player on their mind?
Igoudala does not think he is a #!, he only takes that role because he is the best player on the team. Elton Brand was supposed to be the #!, but it didn’t work out.
Also Igoudala is still young, he’s 26. Why trade a good player for absolutely nothing? What does that gain you? It’s not like he’s old and is taking away minutes from younger players. If Turner or Holiday ends up being the better player than Im sure Igoudala would go back to the #2 role.
If I were to trade Igoudala it would only be for a young player with a lot of potential or a top ten draft pick. Or a low draft pick and the opportunity to dump EB.
Draft Picks
If Igoudala is traded, what level of team do you see him going to?
If draft picks coming back to the Sixers are included in the package, I sure as hell want lottery picks, the lower the better. So either we trade Igoudala to another crap team, or a good team that owns a crap teams draft picks.
I don’t see the point of acquiring a draft pick/s in the 14 to 22 range, unless we are getting a really good young kid back as well, not some project with a high ceiling.
Iggy to clips???
I don’t think they were trying to send nothing of value back this way…that’s prolly why Stiffanski banged the phone on them
