I could see him bringing in a kid like Ogilvy or a local kid in Zoubek (though I am not a fan of him). Also maybe Wayne Chism for another big who can shoot.

-Reynolds might also get an invite as a local player.

Will he bite as in add a player to the summer league roster, con sixers fans into thining he might sign someone and then do nothing – of course he will

jemagee, i give you credit man. you were right. They only would draft turner and do nothing else.

by mothergoose on Jun 25, 2010 9:39 AM PDT up reply actions

Yeah, I know, i usually am about what the sixers will do compared to what they say – people just ignores me because they see it as ‘negativity’ ;)

Sadly with the Sixers, they are one in the same.

Looking forward to the Kevin Kolb era.

blakley is good but not nba ready. He is a wicked dunker and has some moves. Watched him here playing for my college, UVM.

I have no opinions on any of the players, just a cut and paste

by jemagee on Jun 25, 2010 3:36 PM PDT up reply actions

do you see the sixers making any moves in the offseason now the draft is over? I mean serious moves. Or just tiny one’s. Thanks.

by mothergoose on Jun 25, 2010 3:38 PM PDT up reply actions

Serious moves to me would entail

Major Trade (involving Iguodala or Brand)
Using the MLE
ANY sort of move that puts them over the luxury tax

No – I don’t see major moves

Maybe some minor moves – ‘vet min’ deals to guys without a lot of years – but with an eye on the luxury tax

Though I do believe they should trade Andre

Any interest in Omar Samhan? Not a black hole on offense and passes well out of the post, good shooting mechanics, commitment to playing defense, solid rebounder and WCC defensive POY, strong intagibles “has lost over 60 pounds since his freshman year, strong work ethic, strong leadership qualities, and very good with the media and fans”. Could be worth a look, unfortunatley his upside is limited due to his lack of athleticism but defenitley worth at least a look.

Jeremy Lin

He averaged 16 ppg to go along with 4 rpb and 4 apg shooting 52% from the field. Jeremy might be one of the best Asian American players I have seen in a while. He is really good.

eff you we winning anyway

That’s the kid from the ivy league that lacks the athleticism to play in most of the major basketball conferences right?

I’m sure he’s quite good – but he’s not an NBA player

And the sixers have more than enough guards – don’t you think?

by jemagee on Jun 25, 2010 11:56 AM PDT up reply actions

The GSoM guy was sitting behind me in the 2nd round while he was tweeting like mad about everyone should pick him. He was Asian so I’m sure that played a part in it, but the guy was arguing with me about how much better the Ivy League is than I give it credit for. And he was sitting right behind me.

If Ivy league players, from this class, going to make in NBA they will be from Cornell

Ryan Wittman can shoot as he never shot worse than 42% from 3 and his dad played in the league, if I am not mistaken

Jeff Foote is a true 7 footer and did an alright job v. the big men of UK in the sweet 16. I also saw him on a few occasions do well v. Syracuse big men.

I"m not even sure why that statement was made

Did you go to cornell? Do you hate Harvard?

by jemagee on Jun 25, 2010 12:57 PM PDT up reply actions

Foote had a chance to go pro, but he already signed overseas. Wittman never had much of a shot.

Ithaca is 5 minutes away from Cornell so I know the team pretty well.

Wait – you live in upstate new york?

EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW

I live at NYU this summer. I go to school in Ithaca. I live in Philadelphia. I’m spending next semester in Los Angeles.

Try and catch me.

NYU huh?

Are you taking a Road Trip to Austin?

by The Legend on Jun 25, 2010 6:29 PM PDT up reply actions

I do not live in upstate NY. I was stating an opinion I still stand bye. Though both of them made the choice to go to Europe as both got bigger contracts than would have if had been a guy fighting for a chance to ride the NBA bench.

I have nothing against Harvard at all. If you just look Lin and what he did, I just do not see it transferring to the NBA. He has a below avg handle and is an avg shooter. I am not saying he has no chance of making it. I just think the guys from Cornell have a better chance of making it in the NBA (if do pure statistical break down it is 2 chances v. 1 chance for Lin & Harvard). I will give Lin something he stepped up in big games (dropped 30 v. Ucoon) and is a scorer which if he could do v. NBA guys then he could make it.

Michael Bourn, I am not saying now either. I agree that Whitman has little chance now, but he can shoot and if develops in Europe he has a chance in a few yrs.

He was referring to me about living in Upstate NY. And there’s no chance Wittman develops anything. He’s not fast, strong, or athletic. He is what he is — a shooter with very few other skills not on par with the rest of the NBA. Kapono is more athletic than he is and a much better shooter, unfortunately for Ryan.

by Michael Levin on Jun 26, 2010 7:57 AM PDT up reply actions

I’ll trust your judgement I saw him shoot the lights out when I watched including a few times v. big time opponents.
