Sixers Coaching Big Board

First, there was the Liberty Ballers draft board. Then, came the Coaching Power Rankings. Now, we combine to the two for a monster-mega-installment of the Official Sixers' Coaching Search Big Board! I broke down the candidates herehere, and here. It's time to rank them in order of who I want to see as the Sixers next head coach. Follow the jump to see my big board.

Star-divide

Coach Rank
Mike Budenholzer 1
Jeff Van Gundy 2
Dwane Casey 3
Tom Thibodeau 4
Avery Johnson 5
Larry Brown 6
Mike Fratello 7
Jay Wright 8
Doug Collins 9
Mike Woodson 10
Sam Mitchell 11

My top two won't change during the off-season, but the rest of them might. I still have to do a little more research on Thibodeau, Fratello, Woodson and Mitchell. What about you guys?

It’s amazing how quickly I jumped on the Bud bandwagon. The Budwagon. The Budweiser. Perhaps that explains it.

Ben Francisco Cabrera Derek Elston Evan Turner… and Hooch

BTW, I can say with almost 100% certainty that this was the first (and last) Turner & Hooch reference on this blog. Does that mean I win some kind of prize?

by tk76 on Apr 30, 2010 9:20 AM PDT up reply actions

I’m 100% certain that it won’t be the last – just because you said so

Hey you guys remember that movie Turner and Hootch?

by Michael Levin on Apr 30, 2010 1:23 PM PDT up reply actions

You do remind me a little bit of hooch (anyone anyone)

Love that show! Brilliantly written. Have not gotten the defictionalized book yet, you?

by MojoPharoah on Apr 30, 2010 2:20 PM PDT up reply actions

No I have not gotten the book yet – while I think Nathan Fillion is a god since he days at the pizza place…I’m not a huge mystery fan in general…though i must admit mustang sally and the kerley books were quite good.

My gf loves her some mystery, so maybe i’ll buy it for her this christmas

they are planning a second book

I must admit, when they were advertising the show and kept mentioning Stana Katic like people should know who she is – and i was like, whu noh? But talented AND hot (hot without talent isn’t so interesting)…i would let her do things to me i only used to reserve for lucy liu

I really just think that if Van Gundy got his hands on the type of players the 76ers have that the defense would be amazing.

by packimop on Apr 30, 2010 9:08 AM PDT reply actions

Wouldn’t he be arrested – it seems illegal for Jeff to do that to the players…without their consent…

And Jeff doesn’t want to coach according to his brother, and the past 2 or 3 off seasons

Looks like the Sixers agree with your vote so far. Unfortunately, Bud is still working

by MojoPharoah on Apr 30, 2010 2:24 PM PDT up reply actions

If the Sixers hire Bud I’ll grant them a 1-year grace period from bashing and buy season tickets, even though I live in Vegas and will only attend one game.

Those of you who voted for avery johnson – you are dead to me

by jemagee on Apr 30, 2010 1:39 PM PDT reply actions

Avery Johnson, Eddie Jordan and a Blackboard.

One gives three hour chalk talks.

The other sounds like when you run your fingernails across a blackboard. Three hours of AJ and my ears might bleed.

Somoene has to find that interview from last year…and post it
