An NBA source confirmed Wednesday that Stefanski, the Sixers' president, has contacted John Langel, the agent for Doug Collins, to try to schedule an interview.
Collins is a former first overall pick by the 76ers and has a career record of 332-287 (.536), going 15-23 in the postseason. He has not coached since the 2002-2003 season during Michael Jordan's return to basketball, and has not made the playoffs -- or had a winning record -- since 1996-1997 with the Detroit Pistons.
