Celtics @ Sixers game thread

Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers, Mar 5, 2010 4:00 PM PST

Update: Brand will start ...

The Rondo-Holiday matchup should be interesting.

This is also the first game I'll be able to watch live. Join me if you can stomach another loss.

Here's what our lottery friends are up to tonight:

Pistons @ Cavs

Knicks @ Raptors

Bucks @ Wizards

Kings @ Mavs

Pacers @ Nuggets

Thunder @ Clippers

Go team.

Stop listing the clippers – it’s bad juju – only least teams with ‘better’ positioning than the sixers.

I’m 10 for 11 on picks this week – though still on track for overall record – though sacramento beating houston while ood for the sixers is bad for my predictions.

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 1:23 PM PST reply actions

You picked Knicks and Wiz tonight right?

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 1:26 PM PST up reply actions

Picked the wiz – but not the knicks – bosh was supposed to be back tonight – and the raptors are better than the knicks even without him…

knicks already got one of their 2 wins against the pistons, other one predicted was the nets

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 1:38 PM PST up reply actions

so if the knicks win tonight they could possibly get three this week. nice.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 2:19 PM PST up reply actions

If it were in MSG i’d give am a shot – but it’s a big if.

There’s also a chance the nets beat them – i mean the nets beat the celtics

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 2:25 PM PST up reply actions

Jordan said Brand would play and start tonight.

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 3:01 PM PST reply actions

brilliant if he’s not healthy. that means he’ll hurt himself worse. DONT REST THE TENDINITIS!!!

by packimop on Mar 5, 2010 3:44 PM PST up reply actions

If that means he goes 30 minutes and only scores 2 points again I’m all for it.

by Uiruru on Mar 5, 2010 3:46 PM PST up reply actions

No – let him rest the rest of the season – start thaddeus young

Elton Brand isn’t going anywhere – so starting 10/11 with a fully rested and healed brand is best for the sixers

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 3:54 PM PST up reply actions

na i want big time lottery pick next year too. Hassan Whiteside.

by packimop on Mar 5, 2010 4:03 PM PST up reply actions

I just want it to be the off-season already.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:07 PM PST up reply actions

Yup, at this point the only thing to really look forward to is watching the rookies along with whenever they finally draw the ping pong balls.

by Uiruru on Mar 5, 2010 4:09 PM PST up reply actions

So the ravens grossly over paid for anquan bolding

and chris bosh went to the hospital with stomach pains – no play tonight

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 3:55 PM PST reply actions

You think they overpaid for Boldin?

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 3:56 PM PST up reply actions

I think a 3rd and a 4th for a guy who won’t be as good with out fitzgerald by his side (and kurt warner throwing to him yeah might be too much :)

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 4:01 PM PST up reply actions

they got back a 5th tho. boldin is going to be better than anyone you draft in the 3rd or 4th round for at least the next 4 or 5 years and ravens are trying to contend.

by packimop on Mar 5, 2010 4:04 PM PST up reply actions

maybe maybe not, we’ll see…i think he won’t be the guy they hope he is

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 4:04 PM PST up reply actions

Boldin was a stud before Fitzgerald got there. He’s a top 10 wideout without him now

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 4:29 PM PST up reply actions

if healthy. but any guy who plays 2 weeks after breaking his face is good with me.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:29 PM PST up reply actions

Granted, he’s a little older, but he put up 100-1300 in his rookie year with Jeff Blake and Josh McCown throwing him the ball + no Fitzgerald.

I think he’s a stud as long as he can stay healthy. I wanted Dallas to trade for him.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:05 PM PST up reply actions

That was a great deal for the Ravens…

by YoSixers on Mar 6, 2010 7:59 AM PST up reply actions

Sorry, but even Zumoff’s intros are starting to irritate me.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:01 PM PST reply actions

iguodala posts up pierce, fadeaway jumper, and 1.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:12 PM PST reply actions

Jrue leaves Allen wide open for a three.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:15 PM PST reply actions

that wasn’t blocked?

by packimop on Mar 5, 2010 4:15 PM PST reply actions

jrue gotta learn the floater.

by packimop on Mar 5, 2010 4:15 PM PST reply actions

jrue brings the ball up the court, john.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:15 PM PST reply actions

are you keeping track live this game?

by packimop on Mar 5, 2010 4:18 PM PST reply actions

loosely. i’ll go back and re-watch. i think i already missed a couple.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:19 PM PST up reply actions

not sure how rondo got that wide open. good thing he missed.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:20 PM PST reply actions

detorit is whooping cleveland early lol.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:22 PM PST reply actions

dang i’m hungry. craving something unhealthy.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:22 PM PST reply actions

jrue gets blocked by perkins then sends pierce to the line.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:23 PM PST reply actions

i’ll also track waht % of the time jrue brings ball up, just for john.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:24 PM PST reply actions

If i could reach you i’d punch yoiu

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 4:34 PM PST up reply actions

i’m serious. i’d like to know as well.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:35 PM PST up reply actions

jrue leaves allen wide open … again.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:25 PM PST reply actions

jrue drills a 18 footer off a curl.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:25 PM PST reply actions

lou isn’t getting any calls at all.

by packimop on Mar 5, 2010 4:25 PM PST reply actions

how come lou never gets foul calls?

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:26 PM PST reply actions

sam’s defense > elton’s defense

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:26 PM PST reply actions

jordan i’m going to tell you everything that happens before hand\

by packimop on Mar 5, 2010 4:27 PM PST reply actions

i’m caught up. fast forwarded first set of commercials.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:27 PM PST up reply actions

see that last rondo shot, i couldn’t tell who’s guy/fault it was. that’s why i gotta re-watch.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:29 PM PST reply actions

allen gets wide open on a screen. willie’s guy.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:30 PM PST reply actions

I’m going to be very unhappy if we win this game. That’s as blunt as I can put it.

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 4:30 PM PST reply actions   1 recs

I’ll be very happy if we lose and the Pistons, Knicks and Wizards win.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:35 PM PST up reply actions

he’s definitely been improving defensively.

by packimop on Mar 5, 2010 4:32 PM PST up reply actions

allen blows by green, brand blocks shot.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:33 PM PST reply actions

thad played solid post d on sheed on that last possession.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:36 PM PST reply actions

lou loses nate robinson for a three.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:37 PM PST reply actions

why does sheed always shoot well against us?

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:38 PM PST reply actions

robinson passes up wide open shot, turns it over.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:39 PM PST reply actions

jamie maggio provides high school girl like insight.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:39 PM PST reply actions

“and he was like, and i was like … "

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:39 PM PST up reply actions

I think your giving her to much credit, 7th maybe 8th grade insight at best.

by Uiruru on Mar 5, 2010 4:40 PM PST up reply actions

yeah but she’s ‘hot’ s who cares right?

Speaking of which – erin andrews on dancing with the stars, respect level drops by like 90%

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 4:41 PM PST up reply actions

who cares about erin andrews, ocho is winning.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:42 PM PST up reply actions

Who cares about dancing with the stars is the main point

thus the loss of credibility as a sports tv journalist

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 4:47 PM PST up reply actions

I don’t think that made her any less credible. My disdain for the show aside, she’s doing it to gain more recognition and make money. If she can still do her job, (as Martin Lawrence says) what the problem is?

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 5:19 PM PST up reply actions

i think washington’s run is over. they’ll be lucky to win 3 more games this season.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:43 PM PST reply actions

Did you see the guy on Brians blog telling me how andray bitch has finally figured it all out and is now a super star :)

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 4:47 PM PST up reply actions

missed that. i’ve always liked blatche, but superstar is a bit much.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:49 PM PST up reply actions

Blatche had a good week so he was talking him up as ‘great’ – but blatche has had a good week before, blatche is basically speights with a little rebounding

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 4:50 PM PST up reply actions

speights draws the charge. lucky though.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:46 PM PST reply actions

willie bringing the ball up instead of jrue, but he passes to jrue as soon as he passes halfcourt.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:47 PM PST reply actions

Cavs are going to win that game – give it up

by jemagee on Mar 5, 2010 4:50 PM PST up reply actions

i’ll be so happy when willie green signs with some1 else.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:52 PM PST reply actions

Can we also fire both Eddie’s in the same day?

by Uiruru on Mar 5, 2010 4:53 PM PST up reply actions

that would be a lovely birthday gift gentlemen…….

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 5:21 PM PST up reply actions

all he said was “get yo azz up!”

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:55 PM PST reply actions

technical on perk for basically punching elton in the face.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 4:57 PM PST reply actions

i missed the last couple minutes. phone call.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:03 PM PST reply actions

hey look at that, another good defensive play lou.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:03 PM PST reply actions

this party really died lol. what an awesome time to be a sixers fan.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:10 PM PST reply actions

detroit winning by niner (won’t last) NYK and GSW in close games.

by packimop on Mar 5, 2010 5:15 PM PST reply actions

sucks that detroit is going to blow a 20 point lead.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:16 PM PST up reply actions

up 9 at half, still hope if Tay and Rip stay hot

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 5:21 PM PST up reply actions

I told you they would

by jemagee on Mar 6, 2010 8:47 AM PST up reply actions

Elton just tried to Iguodala his way up the court. I don’t think Andre was pleased

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 5:23 PM PST reply actions

great look for lou

by packimop on Mar 5, 2010 5:25 PM PST reply actions

only half paying attention now, but nice 3 lou.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:26 PM PST reply actions

jrue also lost allen a couple possessions ago again.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:26 PM PST reply actions

Elton and Sammy running the break is hardly a recipe for success

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 5:28 PM PST reply actions

what u gonna do if the sixers win mb?

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:28 PM PST up reply actions

make poor decisions tonight, that’s what im gonna do

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 5:29 PM PST up reply actions

chalk it up as another day in the life of jordan sams the sports fan.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:32 PM PST up reply actions

that’s both less exciting and less ambiguous. I plan on drinking despite having a fever the past 3 days. Because why the * * not?

For the record, those asterisks stand for a Sixers player — figure it out and win nothing!

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 5:33 PM PST up reply actions

i think rondo just blew by lou again.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:29 PM PST reply actions

jrue drills the three. really impressive shot lately.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:30 PM PST reply actions

Detroit stretches the lead to 13

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 5:32 PM PST reply actions

i just got my mlb extra innings bill and 6 teams (20%) are blacked out. shouldn’t i be able to pay 20% less then?

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:33 PM PST reply actions

not that i care about the dodgers, angels, giants, a’s and dbacks.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:35 PM PST up reply actions

Yeah, Las Vegas really has the crappiest MLB ‘home team’ idiocy there is.

Do you get all those teams on regular channels?

by jemagee on Mar 6, 2010 8:48 AM PST up reply actions

btw, if you have facebook, give jrue holiday an add. he says things you’d expect 19 year olds to say.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:34 PM PST reply actions

“Polo is my jawn”

lol

by YoSixers on Mar 6, 2010 8:02 AM PST up reply actions

lou just got double screened. i don’t think i’ve ever seen that. solid effort — fouled rondo though.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:38 PM PST reply actions

to be fair, rondo’s been getting free on a lot of screens.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:46 PM PST reply actions

that time rondo effed up jrue w/o any screens.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:46 PM PST reply actions

rondo is the best player on the floor right now.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 5:52 PM PST reply actions

Rodney Stuckey just had a seizure or at least that is what the sideline reporter said.

by The Legend on Mar 5, 2010 5:58 PM PST reply actions

Yeah at first he looked fine going over to the sideline but then he went into one it caused a 12 minute delay. Mike Brown was interviewed between quarters and he couldn’t stop talking about how they need to keep Stuckey in their prayers.

by The Legend on Mar 5, 2010 6:32 PM PST up reply actions

Just realized that could of came off wrong but the reporter also asked a couple other questions besides Stuckey and he wouldn’t change the subject.

by The Legend on Mar 5, 2010 6:34 PM PST up reply actions

Jordan to answer your earlier question...

haha actually this summer. No lie when I spend the semester interning in LA, me and 2 of my friends are driving cross country and stopping in Vegas for a few days. If we need a place to stay, I may actually be hitting you up for a couch or some floor space.

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 6:03 PM PST reply actions

probably around august 20th. haha just keep it in the back of your mind, it could be an epic LB blogger meeting — maybe Tanner and John can find their way there

by Michael Levin on Mar 5, 2010 6:24 PM PST up reply actions

i’m going to play something outside. be back, and recap up later.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 5, 2010 6:05 PM PST reply actions

Jrue

I was at the game tonight. When Jrue was taken out, he walked very slow to the bench, looked very dejected and down. So sad to see. He is going to be a great player someday, mark my words…..

Oh, btw, did I say that I “hate” Eddie Jordan today yet? I despise him and am getting very bad attitude.
