Poll: Eddie Jordan
How much better would the Sixers be without Eddie Jordan?
This question has been tossed around a few times this season. For some reason I thought about it as I washed my hair tonight, and was curious to see where everyone else stood. After deep thought I hypothesized that the Sixers would've finished this season with 40 wins if they were led by the "perfect" coach - whether that be Phil Jackson, Gregg Popovich, or a dude I created in my lab, in my basement.
P.S. No need to remind me that I predicted 48 wins at the beginning of the season, or made some absolutely absurd statements in my season preview. Trust me, I know. You live and you learn.
P.P.S. If you're wondering how I came up with 40 wins, it was a complete guess. If anyone knows how to accurately adjust win/loss records comparing a current head coach and a head coach who may or may not have been created in the basement of a crazed blogger, e-mail me.
Vote away, and give me an explanation in the comments - even if it's an explanation on why Kid Cuisine is the finest food in America.

Sixers are a capable team
They just need a coach like Mike D’Antoni or a coach that applies a running type of system because they have the players to do that.
Thaddeus Young, Andre Igoudala, Lou Williams, Jrue Holiday, Speights, they are all athletic and can run. I think that is what the Sixers are built after, kind of like the old Sun’s team back when Mike was their coach
eff you we winning anyway
A.I. IS BACKKKKKKK
i chose 31-35
I think the loss of Andre Miller hurt this team a lot more than anyone has been talking about. The first 2/3 of the season we really didn’t have a PG, recently Jrue has filled that whole and they’ve still been losing. Even though Jordan is a terrible coach, I don’t think he’s made our team 20 losses worse. Some of the blame just has to go to the FO and the players, as much as I loathe EJ.
I don’t believe the loss of Andre Miller hurts the team more than anyone has talked about, it’s been talked about and I think it’s greatly exaggerated.
A smarter/better coach would have played Jrue Holiday ‘real’ minutes earlier, so the sixers wouldn’t have been without a point guard 2/3 of the season
The mistake one would make voting in this poll is assuming that the smart coach would play the same rotations, he wouldn’t, he wouldn’t avoid speights/dalembert, he wouldn’t sit dalembert in the fourth quarter for no apparent reason.
But the talent and development of this team isn’t better than a 500 team

I agree with you till the last line. I think we would have been well above .500 and would have been a fun year to watch Jrue. He may have even been in the ROY talk IF HE started at the begginning of the year.
And I think you’re wrong
They were a 500 team last year and don’t think they’re better or worse than last year

Yeah, I’m pretty amazed that Speights/Sam almost never shared the floor until last game. You’d think their talents would complement each other.

Yes, one has a grossly under developed offensive game (with no interest in improvement) And one has a grossly under developed defensive game (with no interest in improvement)
Together they make a pretty damn single player

As has been said, Stefanski made two deceions that doomed the season:
1. E.J.
2. Entering the year without a legit PG.
A good coach gets 35 wins this year and 41 next year (Since he would need to work through Jrue’s growing pains.) I guess some sort of uber-coach gest this team to .500 this season, although without a n experience PG it would be quite an accomplishment and involve great defense.
