Thaddeus Young will miss tomorrow night's game against New Jersey with a broken right thumb. No timetable has been set for his return, the Sixers said.

Young cracked the nail on his right thumb in the first quarter last night against New York, but returned and started the second half. He reopened the wound early in the third quarter, leaving a trail of blood which caused about a 5-minute delay. He returned again in the fourth quarter with the thumb heavily bandaged.

This can only be good news for MissonWTF right?

Fantastic timing. All we need is for Iguodala to pretend he’s hurt and we may lose to the Nets!

idk if he would do that – gotta defend his coveted minutes title – o wait that’s a dumb award – i will shut my mouth – or smm with the cool kids

Not only are we playing the league’s worst team tomorrow, but they’re going to be coming off a back-to-back.

I hate to see Thad break his thumb but at least it gives us a better chance at losing.

Perfect time for francisco elson to make his long awaited debut even if he is hurt

all natural of course. No modern medicine will get in the way of me having this cow.

I’d prefer to win vs. the nets and then have a streak of consecutive losses until the end. That’s my feeling

I’m just excited to be in this position. Mission WTF son!

by Jordan Sams on Mar 16, 2010 5:52 PM PDT up reply actions

then let’s call it a short (and hopefully harmless) digression to the mission WTF, son!

by apfan on Mar 16, 2010 5:59 PM PDT up reply actions

is anybody watching the scoreboard? Indiana up 14 in the 4th over Charlotte, and Detroit tied with Cleveland midway through the 3rd. Both would be enormous. If Indiana wins they’re within a game of us, and if Detroit wins they pass us.

by Derek Bodner on Mar 16, 2010 6:05 PM PDT reply actions

Pacers did it.

Detroit still tied with Cleveland 2 minutes into 4th.

by Derek Bodner on Mar 16, 2010 6:33 PM PDT up reply actions

They are just teasing us. Essentially tied for fifth, must be time to start a winning streak.. Just another way for this team to cause pain for its few remaining fans.

thats the optimism ive been looking for

Pistons lost. End reminded me of our game with the Cavs. LBJ wasn’t losing.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 16, 2010 7:05 PM PDT up reply actions

I’m a longtime Sixer fan. What is optimism?

via urban dictionary

3. Optimism

The view that Optimus Prime is the ultimate deity, father figure, and driving force of the universe.

Jane: Thank God for Optimus.
John: Don’t you mean, “thank Optimus for God?”
One example of Optimism as a religion.

That must be why Michael Bay is addicted to heroine.

I still see the Sixers winning the next 3 games.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 16, 2010 7:06 PM PDT up reply actions

You think they will beat the Bulls who still have something to play for?

by The Legend on Mar 16, 2010 7:49 PM PDT reply actions

Did you see who the Bulls are starting right now?

Chicago has lost seven consecutive games and will use a starting lineup of Jannero Pargo, Flip Murray, Acie Law, Taj Gibson and Brad Miller.

No I did not see that

The Nets also have something to play for so we might not beat them.
