Cavs @ Sixers game thread

Cleveland Cavaliers at Philadelphia 76ers, Mar 12, 2010 4:00 PM PST

I almost pulled the 'ol 'LeBrons @ Sixers' in the title, but the Cavs are much more than just LeBron now -- they have Iced Tea West.

Anyway, tonight should be pretty excited. For all the folks rooting for losses, this is as guaranteed as it gets. Instead of worrying about the Sixers pulling off a miracle win, you can just sit back, watch the most exciting player on the planet (besides Evan Turner), watch Jrue Holiday develop, and celebrate either a Wizards or Pistons victory. If the Knicks beat the Grizzlies tonight the will Sixers will move into a three-way tie for the 7th worst record.

Lottery Team Record GB
10 Clippers 25-40 3.5
9 Sixers 23-41 2
8 Wizards 21-41 1
7 Knicks 22-42 1
6 Pistons 22-42 1
5 Kings 22-43 0.5
4 Pacers 21-43 --

Weird prediction: Jodie Meeks scores 10+ in the fourth quarter.

Serious statement: If the Sixers beat the Cavs I'll take all the blame for the jinx.

P.S. The last Sixers coach to get fired, got fired right after a loss to the Cavs. #justsayin

Man,

How have I not seen that Delonte West clip before? Effin Hilarious.

Also been a huge Delonte fan, especially in video games.

I am listening to Charles Barkley and Eskin right now talk about the 76ers and it is making my head hurt.

by The Legend on Mar 12, 2010 3:54 PM PST reply actions

Could Delonte possibly be ANY more stoned?!? ( :0 )

He is great, though.

Nutcase, but he’s gamer with a lot of heart…

this is acutally a pretty fun game to watch so far.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 12, 2010 4:20 PM PST reply actions

Yes

Good game to watch so far. I am tired of IA9 shooting from outside. He use to drive to the hoop (remember all the games we lost last year at the end?) and now all he does is take jump shots. Another problem that Jordan has created.

by DeanH on Mar 12, 2010 4:29 PM PST reply actions

thats one of the things i don’t think u can blame on ej.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 12, 2010 4:30 PM PST up reply actions

btw 73% of his shots are jumpers this year.

64% last year.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 12, 2010 4:31 PM PST up reply actions

Part of which is because he hasn’t gotten out in transition as much this year. Last year, in the half-court, 68% of his attempts were jump shots (where he shot 33.4%). This year 73% (36.6%)

Almost looks like AI9 read my comments!

No

Just cannot stand fighting Friday Night traffic to watch Bill Green play 20+ minutes a game. Not tonight.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 12, 2010 4:35 PM PST reply actions

Wow, that was a great first quarter.

by Uiruru on Mar 12, 2010 4:37 PM PST reply actions

fantastic. possbiliy the funnest quarter i’ve seen the sixers play all year.

not the best played – obviously – but funnest to watch.

that was two “funnests” in one comment — you have your funnest membership revoked.

thaddeus with a terrible airball. ouch.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 12, 2010 4:42 PM PST reply actions

1. I LOVE how 76ers went back to old school court and logo.
2. Had a chance to visit Philly and stay downtown at the doubletree for the first time in 2007 and it was a great, great city. Lots of fun.
3. The announcer needs to stop with the ‘Igu—-odala!’

by johnnyphoenix on Mar 12, 2010 4:45 PM PST reply actions

…alomst as bad as my Cavs announcers saying ‘Throws the hammer down…’

Sixers

playing the Cavs to a draw, what’s up with that?

by the new Bradfather on Mar 12, 2010 4:47 PM PST reply actions

Don’t you just love Sammy getting many fouls due to our guards not stopping the penetration over and over!

by DeanH on Mar 12, 2010 4:51 PM PST reply actions

Elton Brand's

average in less than a half. The Sixers are seriously playing as well as they have this month, aren’t they?

Brad James

by the new Bradfather on Mar 12, 2010 4:58 PM PST reply actions

haven’t seen this type of energy in months.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 12, 2010 5:00 PM PST reply actions

the sixers always seem to play the cavs close.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 12, 2010 5:03 PM PST reply actions

Nice Game

by Philly, but can the Sixers keep it up?

Brad James

by the new Bradfather on Mar 12, 2010 5:06 PM PST reply actions

I seriously doubt it but if they can keep it entertaining I would’nt mind a 1 point loss.

by Uiruru on Mar 12, 2010 5:10 PM PST up reply actions

I Wear No Pants

is the stupidest commercial I’ve ever seen

Brad James

by the new Bradfather on Mar 12, 2010 5:20 PM PST reply actions

Ok

So, what made them do so much better? Notice, I think the run came AFTER Lou was substituted. Just a thought…..

by DeanH on Mar 12, 2010 5:46 PM PST reply actions

Another great quarter don’t remember the last Sixers game this season I have enjoyed this much.

by Uiruru on Mar 12, 2010 5:46 PM PST reply actions

Nice drive Jrue!

perfect elbow in his face!

by DeanH on Mar 12, 2010 5:50 PM PST reply actions

that was a major momentum killing timeout by EJ.

I think that was the game changer. Sixers may have pulled this one out if not for that timeout.

by mopey on Mar 12, 2010 5:57 PM PST reply actions

Uh. nah. This is the Cavs M.O. all season…you had no chance. We all know that.

by johnnyphoenix on Mar 12, 2010 6:38 PM PST up reply actions

Jrue has played the whole 2nd half. Wonder why?

by DeanH on Mar 12, 2010 6:18 PM PST reply actions

So Jordan can blame him for the loss. Not that all those missed foul shots mean anything.

Good loss, however!
