Trade Proposal from a Timberwolves fan.
The trade is:
Philadelphia receives- Damien Wilkins, Josh Powell
Philadelphia trades- Jason Kapono
Minnesota receives- Jason Kapono, Shannon Brown
Minnesota trades- Ramon Sessions, Damien Wilkins
Los Angeles Lakers receives- Ramon Sessions
Los Angeles Lakers trade- Shannon Brown, Josh Powell
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yz93rye
The Sixers get a solid SF in Damien and an average backup C in Powell. The Wolves get a good 3-pt shooter in Jason Kapono and gain salary space for the following seasons. The Lakers get a very smart backup/starting PG in Ramon without giving up too much.

I’d definitely do it. We save a couple mill this year and 6 mill next year without having to give anything up.

Well, do you think he would stay in Philly?

I don’t think he’ll walk away from 6+ million, regardless of where he is.

Wouldn't they rather have Sessions? He's younger, a better rebounder, better passer, and a better player overall.

That all depends on how you look at it and if you understand the triangle (which doesn’t really need a point guard)…the problem with derek fisher is he sucks defensively.
Sessions isn’t that strong of a defender, he’s a weak shooter, and the t’wolves were idiotic to sign him and should be forced to pay him

Surprisingly, Sessions has more steals per game than Shannon Brown.
Also, he’s playing in the triangle already with Kurt Rambis, so he wouldn’t have to learn it in LA.

judging defense on steals is very foolish… allen iverson led the league in steals twice that should tell you everything

Where did I say he had to learn the triangle? I said the triangle doesn’t need a true point guard.
Sessions is weak defensively, a crap shooter, and doesn’t have the experience that derek fisher does but he DOES have a long term contract (that super kahn was an idiot to sign)
How is he an improvement?

I was just pointing out that the Lakers would like him more because he knows the triangle.
Allen Iverson won the Big East Defensive Player of the Year twice, so I don’t know your point, tsteidel. He also got many votes for Defensive Player of the Year in the NBA a couple times.
If you’ve ever seen Ramon play, he plays very well, emphasis on the very. He’s a very smart NBA player and plays very professionally, like a veteran. He’s improving on his shot and is a definite improvement over Shannon Brown.

Sessions’ defensive rating is 111 this year.
Brown’s defensive rating is 104 this year.
’Nuff said.

BTW defensive ratings are like golf — the lower the better.

What exactly is "defensive rating?"
Do you have the formula anywhere???
