Iverson out indefinitely; career with Sixers could be over
From Yahoo! Sports:
Allen Iverson will not be with the Philadelphia 76ers on their current West Coast road trip and could have played his last game for the team. League sources told Yahoo! Sports there's a strong movement within the organization to permanently break ties with him.
Iverson is with his family to deal with medical issues concerning his daughter, but his constant in-and-out of the lineup this season has led team officials to believe a permanent break is best for the organization. Sources said Iverson went to team officials over the weekend and said he needed to leave again.
No one is sure what ailment his 4-year old daughter is dealing with, but it sounds serious. I wish Allen and his family nothing but the best.

It’s not reasonable or fair to the team for his presence to be uncertain from day to day. At the time he was hired, the team needed another guard. Now that Lou is back and healthy, and Jrue has demonstrated his ability, the team doesn’t really need him. In fact, without wanting to sound cruel or insensitive, he probably wouldn’t be asked back next season anyway. To go even further, the team’s future is Lou and Jrue and it’s time for them to be the starting back-court.
In particular this situation has been very unfair to Lou Williams, who in spite of some people’s opinion that he is not a point guard, was putting up ALL-STAR numbers as a point prior to his injury. He lost his starting position not because of play, but because of injury and because Eddie Jordan was afraid to put AI with the 2nd team.
Philly loves AI and so does the team, but this back and forth stuff is disruptive. If he feels that he needs to be with his daughter constantly then that is what he should do. What he shouldn’t do is cause the team to wonder from day to day where he’s going to be, at his job or with his family.
Seriously who cares
If this back and forth stuff is disruptive. The man is dealing with Real Life issues and not some diva role by AI. So he took some time off a few weeks ago to be with his ailing daughter, and now he must do it again. So what if it disrupts the team don’t injuries disrupt a team? How many times have we seen someone come back from injury only to leave again with the same injury. It happens and now it’s happening to AI, just be glad it’s a legit reason and not the drama he pulled in Memphis or Detroit.
Dude calm down, AI's daughter has a serious illness cut him some slack
eff you we winning anyway
A.I. IS BACKKKKKKK
you can’t be serious, the decision to cut ties should be Allen’s not the front office’s. How can they be so greedy when a player’s daughter is sick to consider cutting him? If your daughter was this sick, wouldn’t you want a leave of absence from your job? It’s just extremely inconsiderate to do this. After all Allen has done for this franchise, this is how you repay him? They used him for ticket sales this year, they didn’t care at all how he played, they abused his reputation in the city of Philadelphia because their attendence was low. Now that they look bad and it hasn’t worked, they’ve waited for this excuse so they could get rid of him. This move doesn’t save them money, and makes them look horrible. Let Allen go out on his terms, the season is over anyways.
And Lou Williams is not an all-star.
What eagles win said....CThunder needs to read this....
The “drama he pulled in Memphis” was directly related to his daughter’s illness. It was more invented in the press when the issue was a serious family issue. Memphis Grizzlies didn’t communicate it well.
“At this time, we feel that it is in the best interest of the Sixers, Allen and his family that he be allowed to deal with a very serious issue that is far greater than the game of basketball,” said President and General Manager Ed Stefanski.
