Iggy to Boston?

Let me start by saying I have no source to support this whatsoever, it came totally from my brain.

That said, I think Boston could be a potential landing spot for Iggy.  The Celts are (according to yahoo, http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Celtics-dealing-Ray-Allen-?urn=nba,217085#comments) considering dealing Ray Allen and his $20 million EC.  According to the link, they want a younger guard (Iggy) and an another EC(likely Kapono).

This really gets us nothing but money.  I be would totally against this ever happening because Iggy should never be involved in a straight salary dump, but my guess is that if the Sixers get desperate, they might play around with this idea.

I’ve said this a few times today already and I’ll say it again.

1. DO NOT TRADE Iguodala to the celtics if all you are getting is expiring contracts (i would have done the Iverson deal)
2. DO NOT TRADE Iguodala if it’s the only long term (Sam, Elton) deal you’re getting rid of

Dalembert/iguodala fo allen/scalabrine supposedly works…

The ONLY way I want to see even THAT deal done is if NO OTHER DEAL is available…the celtics have nothing they’d offer aside from expiring contracts and there are a lot of teams with expiring contracts.

The celtics are old, quickly, allen is done, KG can’t stay healthy, pierce broke his foot and is breaking down…DO NOT help the celtics maintain being good or get good value for their assets if you aren’t getting squat back – that’s unacceptable (the iverson deal would have netted the sixers Rajon Rondo and Al Jefferson, that deal had talent coming back).

The CelticsPocalypse is coming, and I don’t want the sixers to do anything to help them forestall it

Yup, I pretty much agree with everything you said, I just wouldnt suprised if the Sixers back themselves into a corner and make a stupid trade like this.

agreed – it would be foolish to help out the celtics just on the basis of dumping salary especially when it is clearly evident that they are deteriorating at a fast pace

only way i would like it is if talent came back and the celtics realistically don’t have any talent to offer back
