In all the highlights the only 76ers highlights they’ve shown is of The Villian and it pisses me off that they didn’t show this.

Sort of reminds me of the AI moment against MJ, early in his career.

Philly born and raised with plenty of Orange in my blood!

And John Smallwood started his article that way

Per Turner, this is what he listened to pregame:

Turenr:

“I’ve always thought that people would like to see a plane crash rather than see a plane land,” Turner said of the criticism he’s already received. "People are going to say what they want, but I’ve never played into that.

“I know what’s inside of me. I know this is a marathon and not a sprint. A lot of people say negative things about me, and sometimes I do want to say, ‘Hey, look at me now.’

“But that’s not the classy thing to do. That’s not the thing to do, in general. You just keep working.

Chapu was open!

Teams without Chapu lost 1173 games during the 2009-'10 season.

Did it look to anyone else like DWade was gonna ask for a carry? Crybaby!

Villainous even said something like that – that they used to call travel in college so he was worried. Welcome to the NBA though…..

It wasn’t a travel. He cupped it before he ever put the ball on the floor. You can hold the ball any way you wish before you start dribbling (or moving your feet, obviously).

Agree. if he made that move off of the dribble it would have been a carry (they sort of tightened the rule early in AI’s career- befoer then AI and J would routinely get away with that type of cross-over.)

The only question is whether he started to dribble before lifting his pivot foot.

Last night was awesome. What we’ve been waiting to see was what we saw and heard out of Ohio State, that Turner’s a guy with a floor game that would allow him to easily make the transition to shooting guard. We saw that last night, he looked very comfortable, he was aggressive and he settled in with his team-mates.

Something we didn’t see all pre-season nor all of the summer league, so while the concern was a bit hyped, it was deserved to the extent that he didn’t look NBA ready.

But like he said, it’s a marathon not a sprint. So if he wants to bring it when the games start counting, that’s better then bringing it in meaningless pre-season/summer league action.
