Unfortunately, that will not clear his 3-year 6 million off of our salary cap, but it will get rid of the most upsetting and infuriating player thus far this pre-season: Andres Nocioni.
Nocioni is incredibly turnover prone, he's foul prone and he's a chucker. And his defense? While I thought the 76ers intensity was good against Boston, Nocioni didn't have an impact, actually that's a good thing. Unlike Evans, he doesn't bring crap to the table.
I don't know why the guy was pissed in Sacramento, he got to pump up his value to 15 PPG, even if it came at a disgusting 39% shooting. Scrubbie was in a perfect role: Somewhat star scorer on a bad team, and he got paid for it too :D.
I understand the contracts given to guys like Reggie Evans and Carl Landry and other hardnosed rebounders/interior defenders: it's hard to find in the league these days, regardless of which position. But someone was drunk when they signed Nocioni to this contract. As a matter of fact, the only good thing about Nocioni IS his contract: It expires with the Albatross Elton Brand.
However, we don't need Nocioni on this roster for the eventual 6 million in cap he'll give us. Buy him out and save a roster spot so we can make a move worth making down the road.
