Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Is it time to move on without THADDEUS YOUNG?

Thad is not fitting into EJ's system.  He has shown flashes of greatness thus far in his career but has been a huge disappointment so far this season.  I used to be a huge fan, but his 3 point shooting is no good (just bricked one off the rim as im typing this) despite the point that he is 3rd best on the team.  He could be a huge piece in a big trade that would re-shape the organization, but could also stay for big plans in the future if he can re find his offensive stroke.  This sixers team is terrible on the defensive end and thad is one of the reasons why.  This team needs a re-shaping and some one is gonna be traded.  Either Young, Dalembert, Brand, Iguodala, Green , Speights , or Williams is going to be traded by the end of the season.  Its time for EJ to start Holiday, Igoudala, Young, Brand and Speights.  With the main bench ro-to going with SammyD,Carney,Williams and iverson. Thoughts and opinions please

He just needs a steady coaching situation (not EJ). He is only 21. Trading him may help us to re-shape the organization but i do not think we are going anywhere with EJ running this team.

If he can be packaged with one of the awful contracts to free space and get picks, I wouldn’t be completely opposed to it. But like Ben said, it’s the fact that he’s had 3 head coaches and he’s only in his third year. Most importantly he’s 21 years old and cheap. Some stability and an actual offense would go a long way in helping him develop. His shot is a work in progress but I believe it’ll get there.

Wow.

Do you really want to stick with EJ’s system?

ejs system is trash

no one is gonna stick with this defense less system any longer. Posted on the main page after the game by jsams….One more note from this game: I’m growing tired of Thaddeus Young. He’s not good at anything except awkward layups and spiriting to the rim on fast breaks. I realize he’s only 21, but how much better is he really going to get? Honestly? Maybe I’m wrong, but I feel like we’re treating a guy who has the potential of a bench player on a championship team as the key to our franchise.

- thad MUST step up his game, on both sides of the ball

If a player ‘fits’ into EJ’ ssystem he probably should be cut, or hobbled, or killed

in my opinion it should be eddie jordan who is going NOT thaddeus young!!! obviously it is jordans system and not any of the players!! look at their record last year and how well they played defense and running on offense which is what they should be doing to maximize players such as thad and dre!!! this :system" is being forced on these players! it is not working,so get rid of it or the coach!! we have very talented ballplayers on this team and no way should our record be this bad!! so far stephanski has done nothing to improve our team and that includes jordans hiring!! ultimately it falls on him so he better do something and that includes a trade to make the team better or free up cap space or just simply pull the plug on jordan because i cant stand to watch another minute of how he rotates our players and doesnt maximize any of their strengths!!! phewww!!! feels good to get that off my chest!!!!

’system

There’s nothing wrong with Thad, but something must be bothering him, because he was a much better shooter last season.

Jordan is a big part of the problem, since Thad should be playing the three spot, where he’d be taller and stronger than his opponent as opposed to being an undersized, weaker Four.

In fact, if there is one specific thing about Jordan that annoys me more than anything else, is that he insists on using Thad as a 4 when he has Brand, Speights and Smith as bigger, stronger options.

Maybe Thad is missing shots, ’cause his arms are tired wrestling for position.

Let’s face it though, Thad is not a banger. I want a more intimidating front line. It’s not like our team rebounding is good right now, boxing out, getting 2nd chance shots themselves, would change this team instantly for the better.

They didn’t beat Boston playing a finesse lineup.

None of that explains why i rebound better than thad does

I think Thad just has a really low basketball IQ

To be fair, I think half our team has really low IQ.

Thad excels when he’s not asked to do anything specific – remember when they said ‘they called no plays for thad’ – we know why now – he can’t remember them

Bad time to be judging T. Young

This team has only had about three decent games this year. A few games with hot first periods, then they lost concentration. For the most part they’ve looked lost. To say one person isn’t shining in this mess is dopey.
