Holiday is "last in the pecking order" as Jordan said post-practice. That's Jordan's style, to have the rookie earn his way onto the floor. So right now he's behind Lou, Willie, and Royal. Jordan called him "solid." After practice, Jrue had some ice wrapped around his knees. When asked about it, he said, "I'm getting old, I'm 19 now." -- Kate Fagan.

best players should play… the fact that royal is ahead of him is laughable

Rather than giving the 19 year old rookie the backup spot, EJ is making sure Jrue knows right from the get go that he’ll need to work hard for his playing time. EJ is using one of the few motivational tools available in today’s NBA. I think Jrue does well in camp and finds himself to have earned playing time.
The scariest thing I heard today was that EJ took a player’s poll about, who were the team’s leaders, and Green was one of the names that other players feel are leaders on the team. Green? Really? Leader?
I guess it would be bad karma to wish for an injury.
I know this isnt how it worked with Spieghts and Thad, but Jrues a lot younger than those guys, so I think this is a good idea.
Jrue is exactly the same age Thad was as a rookie, and a year younger than Speights. I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make here, I don’t think you made one.

This article has EJ talking about Jrue as a Secret Weapon. Plus Dala raved about him the other day. Jrue will be fine.
