Wouldn't you love to see AI back in Philly?

Looking at Allen Iverson still available in free agency makes me want to scream.

And now the story is that he might play in Greece. Are you kidding me?

Can't think of a better place for him to end his career than in the city where it all began. Bring him back home.

Where else is he going to go?

Miami? The Grizz? The Clippers?

This guy belongs in the NBA.

Put him alongside Iguodala, with a healthy Brand. Let him mentor Jrue Holiday.

The Sixers go deeper into the playoffs with him than they do without.

BRING HIM HOME.

Like it’s impossible to be both fans of Iverson and the Sixers?

Maybe some people would like to see their favourite player on their favourite team again. Nothign wrong with that.

As an add on...

I personally don’t want him back. But I know I did want Barkley back for one last season before he hung it up, nothing to do with basketball, all to do with him being my favourite player on my favourite team again.

You do realise this is called the WORLD WIDE web!? Meaning there are people on here from other countries besides America right??

I was born in London and I live in London and we spell the word ‘Favourite’ here in ENGLAND, so i’ll say it like that how ever many times I damn well please. Such ignorance.

Excuse me? How old are you!? Childish, just childish.

I suppose – but over reacting to a small comment probably meant in jest is pretty childish too.

Or evidence of a stick up your rectum, oh, i’m sorry, arse

Not really childish when every American basketball board I visit I get picked up on the way I spell ‘Colour’ and ‘Favourite’ and the different uses of the words “Your” and “You’re”.

Just fed up with it really, not childish, just fed up with the ignorance. Childish is insulting someone on a message board when you have no part in the original argument. Nothing wrong with calling someone ignorant when they are, saying someone ‘has a stick up there arse’ for stating so is, well, whats the point you know? Just insulting for the sake of insulting.

Actually, I find it entertaining.

Seriously, develop a thicker skin dude, not just because of the internet but because of life, if you’re so sensitive you’re not going to have an enjoyable life in general cause so many little things are going to bother you no matter what team is your favourite.

By the way – your and you’re isn’t a cultural thing, that’s just knowing the English language….that’s literacy, much like should of versus should have or the fact that to and two and too seem difficult for some….that’s an actual problem and if people continue to have those problems with the English language, I will call them out because hopefully one, JUST ONE, will be embarrassed enough to take some pride in themselves to learn the English language a little better.

I understand your point, but I do have very thick skin, just after many months of little jabs from people about the same subject sometimes it can get to me even if I am thick skinned.

Then I hope you don’t mind me calling you out for the following comment:

“That’s great, your british – explains the stick up your ass too?”

Sure, if I didn’t do it on purpose – who knows – maybe i did – much like my usage of ‘your’ incorrect spelling of favorite :)

Seriously, the sixers season is going to be long and most likely miserable – i’m just saying – lighten up about things that don’t matter :)

Not that I`m trying to take sides here, although I do enjoy reading worthless bickering..

but his spelling of “favorite” is not incorrect, and I`m sure you are aware of that.

Whereas your usage of “your” was incorrect.

The thing is, no matter who claims to have a better understanding of the English language, we all make spelling and grammar mistakes.
The people who actually waste their time by pointing it out are the ones who could really find more useful activities to do with their time.

As a wise, old philosopher once said:

It would be nice to have a player you could easily get 25+ nightly from

but, he’s not the same AI that could drop 40 or 50 in a night, and between off-the-court and injury issues, his risk outweighs the 20 pts/gm reward.

Allen was a great player. You can’t take that away from him. That said, it’s not logical to bring him back to Philly.

It’s hard not to feel bad for guy. No one seems to want him.

It’s also really funny that someone is posing as Gerald Henderson. Really? That’s the best you can do?

by jsams on Aug 4, 2009 6:01 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I agree Allen was a great player but it is annoying that some people think we should bring him back when anybody with common sense knows that the 76er organization has no desire to bring him back.

Allen Iverson was a great individual player who put up prodigious ‘counting’ stats that impresses a lot of folk and it’ll get him to the hall of fame.

He was never a great team player, he needed a team built to serve his needs and weaknesses and not vice versa…

Anyone who thinks it would be good for the long term health and success of the rest of the sixers roster to bring back ALlen Iverson knows less about basketball than my dog.
