Mike Bibby A 76er?
According to point guard Mike Bibby's agent, the Philadelphia 76ers have contacted him to inquire about Bibby. They have not offered a contract. If it is true that the Sixers are interested in Bibby, then it seems that they are preparing to cut ties with current point guard Andre Miller.
The Sixers drafted point guard Jrue Holliday in the 2009 NBA Draft, so we know that they are preparing for the future. Bibby, who is 31, would provide some offense and passing ability that would match Miller, but the difference is that Bibby is a little more explosive than Miller.
If it is true that this is the 2nd step in getting rid of Miller, then it will be tough. Miller was a field general that could take over a game just with his presence and his leadership. I will never forget when Miller pump faked Allen Iverson out of his shoes in Iversons comeback to Philly, made the shot, and drew the foul!
Signing Bibby would certainly soften the blow of letting Miller sign elsewhere, but Miller will be missed if this scenario happens.

Be interesting to see the terms of the deal, guaranteed 3 years? And how much dollars. Impact on what Miller gets? Depending on who you are they are seen pretty much as ‘equal’ value players I would think.

Yeah
their styles don’t change drastically; Bibby has the upper hand in shooting and Miller in posting-up.
Funny – the Hawks aren’t the main team reporting on Bibby staying in Atlanta – it’s us! It’s probably Bibby (‘s agent) reached out to us first. Nothing really happened; I’m not really upset about that though.
The reported ‘deal’ I believe I heard on espn or something… not sure how much it would be but for some reason the MLE sticks out in my mind; or 15 mil for 3 yrs.
I actually skimmed through the Hawks blog and it was interesting to see whoever posts on their homepage does not think Bibby is a true point guard… I don’t know what else he’d be then. They also mentioned Andre Miller as a possible aquiree.
I just hope Stefanski knows what he’s doing this offseason…

They have to choose between Miller and Bibby, but they can't offer Miller what he has asked from the sixers
Supposedly Bibby is going to sign with the Hawks for three years. There is no way they would offer him 15 million for three years, again. Most likely the MLE.
It’s a shame the sixers can’t work out a sign and trade for Bibby. I’m not sure who else they could get that’s good enough to start and not pushing 35/36+ years old.
I don't think we can really choose Bibby
since he isn’t choosing us… and did the Hawks already offer him 15 mil/3 yrs. and he turned it down?

Not that I know of. He was making 15 mil last year. That's what I was referring to.
Supposedly he is going to sign for another three years, but nothing is official yet.
The sixers had/have the option to work out a S&T with Miller for him, but it seems like that won’t happen.
Reports go like this from various sources
Hawks offering Bibby 3 years a MLE (basically)
Bibby’s Agent called sixers to gauge interest, they said one year MLE and then Bibby’s agent spins it to say Bibby turned down sixers…sounds like sixers turned down bibby to me

Hmm...
well I just heard on First Take that Bibby is close to a 3 year deal with the Hawks, so I guess it doesn’t matter who turned down who lol.
