76ers shopped Elton Brand

A league source confirmed to the Philadelphia Inquirer that the 76ers have shopped forward Elton Brand.

However, it is unlikely that the Sixers will be able to trade Brand because of the sizable contract he signed last summer and his recent injury history.

Brand has four years and $65 million left on his deal.

Philadelphia general manager Ed Stefanski is also looking at a possible move involving the 17th overall pick.

"We're exploring moving up and moving back," Stefanski said, adding that "unless the demands get less, we won't be doing that."

It's the NBA

There’s no room for loyalty, everybody shops everybody for the right move. This doesn’t worry me.

Yup, 3 days ago we learned this, and no one wanted him, shocker

"Someone created the box score," Morey says, "and he should be shot."

Blocked shots — they look great, but unless you secure the ball afterward, you haven’t helped your team all that much.

Sixers should trade Brand to Warriors for C Maggette and Ronnie Turriaf. Money works out, u get rid of Brand this way and Maggette can be a big upgrade over Willie green at SG.

I'm not going to say that's a bad trade.

But it shows how low Elton’s value is right now. Hence, not a smart time to trade him.

Not a smart time to trade him I agree – but an unbalanced trade from a warriors fan doesn’t mean that’s how bad his value is.

Not to mention – that trade, the warriors would never make it. Brand does not fit in the Warriors system.

And this whole ‘upgrade over willie green’ thing – is going to get tired if fans from other teams continue to make trade offers with no actual knowledge of who the players on the sixers roster that will start will be if all are healthy.

Seriously, should have some sort of ‘warning’ post introduction that if you’re going to suggest trades please understand that willie green only starts if elton brand is hurt.

Saying the sixers are shopping Elton Brand

is like saying the sixers almost won the NBA title – you can say that about anyone.

I’m still waiting for something he says to come true.

He has a history – I have no ideea about it anymore cause i was bannified – but he’s been on it in the past – no reason to think he isn’t any more – just because he mentions something doesn’t mean it has to come true

I have no idea if he has been right before since I just found out about the guy. Tom Moore of phillyburbs.com posts there as well

He’s been right before, before I got banninated, but not really recently that I’ve learned in his second hand reports

Since I don’t believe they were ever ‘shopping’ Brand I doubt they are now.

I believe they’ve been putting Sam on the clearance rack – like at walmart – 50% off for a while now – and still no one makes an offer worth taking…sams value is like mud

Stefanski denied this vehemently by the way
