Stefanski Chat on Sixers.com

A good read. Here's my favorite part:

Q: Are the Sixers officially back to the old logo? Ed Stefanski: No hints, but I'm an old school guy and you should be ready for an announcement about our logo on June 23.

Kapono fits 76ers' style, Stefanski says | Philadelphia Inquirer

"Eddie had a big smile on his face when we told him we got Jason Kapono," Stefanski said. "Elton Brand texted me. He's very happy to get him."

76ers still looking to draft guard | Philadelphia Inquirer

Will the Sixers try to deal their way up the draft ladder? "We're talking to teams, but there hasn't been a lot of action on maneuvering," Stefanski said. "But there could be."

Steph Curry anyone?

Former Sixer Evans resigned to moving on to next NBA stop | Philadelphia Daily News

"Honestly, looking at who [the Sixers] got, I really couldn't be mad," Evans said. "There's nothing to be mad about. It's business. I see the direction they're going in."

Reggie will always have a special place in my heart. Classy exit for the Reg-man. Just for old time's sake... "REG-GIE, REG-GIE, REG-GIE!"

Smith cleared, Christmas to workout | Philadelphia Inquirer

Sixers announced that center Jason Smith, who tore his ACL last summer, has been cleared by Dr. David Altchek to do basketball court work without limitations.

DraftExpress: Mock Draft

It's been a while since we mocked it up, and Draft Express provides no surprises with Ty Lawson going to the Sixers at 17.

2009 NBA Mock Draft, Version 4.0 - ESPN

Chad Ford has the Sixers taking Maynor over Lawson. Interesting. He has Lawson falling all the way to 23.

2009 Mock Draft | NBADraft.net

And the most intriguing mock draft I've seen all off-season. NBADraft.net has the Sixers taking Chase Budinger over Jrue Holliday, Ty Lawson, Terrence Williams, Wayne Ellington and Eric Maynor. Budinger seems like a good fit seeing as he's a sick-nasty transition player AND he can shoot, but I'd rather have a point guard -- especially after the Kapono trade.

Y'know

I’m not against the idea of drafting Budinger. He probably has a higher ceiling than either Maynor or Lawson, and he’d fit well at the 2 guard.

Draft Darkhorse pick

If Lawson is gone at 17, I would not mind if the Sixers grabbed Terrence Williams from Louisville. He is a super athletic big combo guard/point forward type who defends like a demon, boards, passes very well and shot 38% from deep. Gary Payton is training him for the draft, and he is learning all of the Glove’s tricks. He would be a really good pick

Isn't he kind of like Andre

but without as good of handles and even a worse shot? It seems like the Sixers have a rich man’s Terrence Williams in Iggy.

the old logo comment is nice to read...

…hopefully Sixers will dump the ugly one with the black & gold crap, my friend

I never liked NBADraft.net – I believe (as others have pointed out) that the reason their mock changes so much is not because they believe the order is changing so much but because they get more traffic hits by changing their mock so frequently.

"Someone created the box score," Morey says, "and he should be shot."

Blocked shots — they look great, but unless you secure the ball afterward, you haven’t helped your team all that much.

I wouldn’t be sad to get Buddigner. He seems to be a good shooter, and good on the break. Not a good defender, but then not a lot of college players are.

Budinger never impressed me while he was in College but that could be because he went to Arizona with a TON of hype and didn’t live up to it

There’s too many red flags on budinger for my taste – and he seems to do nothing to dispell them even if it’s just ‘i love playing basketball’ …

Fair enough, but there’s a good number of red flags on anybody who’s left when you’re picking 17th.

True, but ‘dedication to the game’ – is a red flag i avoid at all costs – if there’s ever a question about dedication to basketball (which i think of as different than work ethic) – he’s a guy i’d avoid at all costs – if lawson is too short or has a bad toe that’s not as bad as not liking basketbal as much.

Sam Dalembert lacks a work ethic AND a dedication to the game (not to mention antural skills) – i think ‘some’ red flags are worse than others and i think ‘love of basketball’ is one of the biggest

I just want to clarify this – as someone who has ‘natural talents’ in things that don’t interest me – i spent college and grad school working otwards something that i was ‘good’ at but i really didn’t enjoy doing it – i did well but i didn’t do the best i could probably because i didn’t like what i was doing – same with my job i have right now – i do it quite well but probably could do better if i liked what it was. When you’re invsting a few million dollars in a guy i think one of the most important things to know is if he LOVES what hes doing – i just don’t believe you can excel completely if you don’t love and enjoy what you’re doing…and all signs with Budinger indicate he’s more of a ‘natural’ talent who doesn’t like the game…and my personal experience indicates that that’s a bad combo
