Miscommunication is why Miller missed meeting
Andre Miller also missed the meeting but made contact with the team Friday afternoon. Miller’s agent called it “miscommunication.” Apparently unaware Friday’s meeting was mandatory, Miller went to New York and had lunch with his agent. Miller has a flight out of New York on Saturday to Denver.
Miller and Ratliff both happen to be impending free agents.
Before Stefanski heard from Miller’s camp, he wasn’t sure if Miller was sending a message. He still reiterated the team’s desire to have the team’s starting point guard return next season.
“There was no intent, malice or deliberate message that was trying to be sent by this action at all,” Miller’s agent Andy Miller said. “Quite frankly I wouldn’t waste my time or waste Andre’s time making subtle messages to Philadelphia’s fans or management.”
Miller and Ratliff’s absence were still almost a sidenote to the plethora of topics that were discussed as the players underwent exit interviews with Stefanski and coach Tony DiLeo.
All I got to say about this is thank god

Yeah – trust the agent – they never spin things to make their players look better.
Yawn
"Someone created the box score," Morey says, "and he should be shot."
Blocked shots — they look great, but unless you secure the ball afterward, you haven’t helped your team all that much.

True
I wasn’t thinking about that but just the thought of Lou Williams being our starting PG gives me nightmares
I"m almost SURE the sixers have realized that lou williams isn’t a point guard by now.
Almost

Scary...
Did any of you hear what Avery Johnson said about Lou Williams?
I have to believe that among the many candidates for the job of Sixers next head coach, Marc Jackson, Doug Collins and Avery Johnson would be on the list. Each has a basketball background that would command some respect so I can’t argue against any of them. (Maybe I could against Jackson) The problem is that many of these people think far differently about Lou then we do.
in an interview, Avery was quoted as assuming Lou to be next in line for the starting point guard position once Miller has packed his bags and moved on. Now I don’t know why Lou took a step backwards (I have an opinion) in comparing this year to last but if Avery Johnson is the next coach, strap your seatbelts guys, cause Lou will be your starting point guard.
As far as the draft is concerned: when you make the playoffs, you don’t have the luxury of drafting for need. You have to take the best available player… witch probably won’t be a point guard. Being such a valuable position, its very likely that there are 8 teams who draft before you that could use an upgrade at the point guard position. My guess is that the best available player (if a point guard) will be someone who plays on the other side of the Atlantic ocean who very few of us would know anything about.
Either improve or Start over!

When has he even been an assistant in the NBA?

I only brought up Mark Jackson because I keep on hearing his name thrown out there. I don’t think he has ever been an assistant but was Del Negro? I think he was just a FO guy with the Suns I think.
Well then broaden the question – does Mark Jackson have any front office / off court experience in the nba? I thought he went from player to announcer…aside from playing in the nba he’s less qualified than every college coach with one years experience coaching a D-1 school
Let’s put it this way – if jackson refuses to start as an assistant – he’s not a guy I want coaching a team I root for – and I don’t want a guy who has never been on an nba coaching staff
