Done.

The Sixers got what they deserved tonight. They played with no intensity, no heart and no sense of urgency. They came out severely unfocused and unprepared. In a season with so many positives to build on, all we'll remember is this awful performance. After what I saw tonight, I'm officially ashamed to call myself a fan.

I can't even bring myself to write a full recap.

  • If there was ever any doubt, Tony DiLeo should not return as head coach.
  • I don't want to see Sam Dalembert play another game in a Sixers uniform.
  • Andre Iguodala took a big step back tonight.
  • Thaddeus Young has a lot of work to do.
  • Lou Williams is who we thought he was -- garbage.
  • I don't want to see Bill Green play another game in a Sixers uniform.
  • Andre Miller was the only player who showed up tonight. I feel extremely privileged to have watched him this all season. Sad thing is, this is probably the last game he'll ever play for us.
Season over.

that is all

Oh yeah – watching John Salmons make clutch shots to force a second overtime while as the sixers were stuck with Willie Green makes me very very sad.

"Someone created the box score," Morey says, "and he should be shot."

Blocked shots — they look great, but unless you secure the ball afterward, you haven’t helped your team all that much.

3 overtimes?

What a freakin’ series.

+1

Salmons…little old John Salmons.

Little Old John Salmons who billy king dismissed so he could offer willie green a 5 year deal.

Thank aobut that for a minute – and then remember that King is supposedly in the running to help run the knicks

Dark days ahead?

Without Miller, where do we go? Is Brand going to ever be the elite player we anticipated? What to do about Dalembert?

Too many big questions for my tastes.

We have six months to answer them.

Plenty of time to develop logical answers.

by jsams on Apr 30, 2009 7:51 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yes – but will the sixers be logical

This is the most important 3-6 months of Ed Stefanskis Sixer career

And is it me – or does watching joakim noah run make it seem he’s going slow (if you’re watching the bulls game you know what i’m talking aboutg)

I didn’t say there wasn’t speed it just didn’t SEEM there was speed – i was watching the ply – he beat pierce down the floor and dunks with authority – it just SEEMED like he wasn’t moving fast.

Poor Noah – he’s the bobby abreu of the NBA – he’s a VERY good player and so many people think he isn’t

The solution for dalembert is to go back in time and trade him for josh childress when the deal is offered.

Why are you assuming Miller is gone – no one who has cap room needs/wants miller most likely – even if miller is gone to a team that could use him (Portland) it’s a sign and trade and you get some talent back – and this draft is deep in PG and a solid one could be available at 17.

As for Brand – I’m tired of people dismissing him based on small sample size, two coaches and he was never healthy EVER

look at the bright side

at least the Sixers MADE it into the Playoffs (unlike my Warriors team). And they made it exciting when they took that first game away from Orlando. I was hoping the Sixers would make it to the 2nd round though – I’m going to be back home visiting my mom next week and it would have been nice to see them play (my Uncle has season tix).

I guess we’ll see what next season brings.

Nope – sorry – no bright side.

Still only a 500 team
only one game better than last year
lost in 6
looked like crap

no overall improvement in my opinion from last year – no closer to a title – and still haven’t integrated brand

The sixers are EXACTLY where they were last season when the piston season ended as far as i’m concerned and with ‘similar’ decisions that have to be made

I’d rather have the warriors roster than the sixers roster – you just have a crappy front office with personality issues getting int he way and a guy only slightly more overrated than larry brown

Congratulations on a good season all considering

There are long term problems with this roster (Miller’s potential departure, fitting in Brand and the next head man), but that doesn’t mean the Sixers didn’t do something worthwhile in making the playoffs this season.

Sigh – I wish people would stop saying that – the more people who say it the more I think the sixers believe it too
