Remember my post about My Beef with Iguodala?
Well, this is what I am talking about when I mean killer instinct and the guy on your team who you want to have the last shot. We saw a glimpse with the lakers and saw it during this game. Iguodala has potential but I need to see this more. He didn’t play that great today but he made a play when it mattered most. HE NEEDS TO MAKE FT. FREE POINTS SHOULDN’T BE PASSED UP.
lol okay i’m done, my hands are still shaking from watching the gamecast.
I respectfully disagree.
Besides the two missed free throws I thought Iguodala played a fantastic game — even before the last shot.
I love it.
Guy hits a game-winner, on the road, in the playoffs, with a 6’10" guy in his face and you’re complaining that he doesn’t do it more.
Send GT Green packing.

yea you know cuz two rebounds and two assists away from a triple double isn’t playing that great

lol
I guess in the excitement I totally screwed up what I am trying to say.
I think we can all agree that the sixers as a whole have a horrid time at the FT line even though their style of play is getting to the hoop and to the FT line. Iguodala is no different. Those 2 FT at the end are no different than anytime in the game but the importance of them is magnified when the game is down to just 1 or 2 possesions. Did everyone see the Bulls vs Celtics game yesterday? Derrick Rose had ice in his veins and made the FTs when he needed to. I actually take back what I said about not playing great because you guys are right he did. See, I only actually saw the first two quarters of the game and at that point I only saw a slow start and only some dunks here and there. That is probably why I said it in the heat of the moment after winning. I just looked over his stats and he had a statistically good night and an even better finish.
Yeah, stats won't tell you how good he played.
As for the Rose/Iguodala comparison: Rose had 9 or so attempts throughout the game. Those two free throws were Iggy’s first of the day.
fair enough.
Why wasn’t he getting to the line more? Was he not attacking the basket or were we not getting calls? Like I said, I only saw the first 2 quarters, and other people were on at the beginning of the game which explains why he probably wasn’t as involved at the beginning.
AWESOME
This game was awesome or atleast the part i missed was. i stopped watching when we were down 17 or 18 towards the end of the 3rd. i gave up too early i got a text message from my buddy asking if i was watching this ridiculous game. of course i said i stopped and he tells me were tied with 12 seconds left and have the ball. next text “IGGY nails it with 2.2 left!!!!” never have i been more excited at the grocery store in my life. all i know is the the whole outlook of the series changes now. we basically have home court now. after looking at the box score i would say Iguodala played alright not great not bad but he did miss those 2 free throws as well as shoot less then 50% and turn the ball over 5 times. haha but he made the shot that matters and is actually looking like he can become the superstar that he thinks that he is. Can’t wait for game 2 i’m not losing faith too early ever again
Also
Forgot to mention that lou Will had an awesome game as well, 18 points off the bench on 7-11 shooting including 3-3 on treys too bad he missed 2 free throws as well

Who called it boys?!
“Prediction – sixers pull and chicago and take a surprise game one win”
- this morning in the “Get Pumped” post.
Awesome game , felt uneasy the whole way (like the bubble was about to burst) until Hedo missed the last 3 pointer. now lets make some noise wednesday as well.
Refs?
OK, I get giving Dwight his steps…but all those loose balls under the O-board? What was THAT all about?
That said, the Sixers played well. I liked their game plan. We all know how the perimeter D is, so that should be the focus in any series. It’d be nice if Sammy didn’t pick up stupid fouls that limit his minutes, but that’s Sam (disclosure: also my favorite player, but I know his shortcomings, like we all do…). I’m glad I am looking forward to Wednesday’s game instead of dreading it.
A few things I`ve noticed when the sixers win games
The sixers get at least 20 assists.
They either shoot well from the free throw line, or the opponent also shoots poorly.
They are consistent with their rebounds/ get more rebounds than opponent.
Four or more players score double digits.
They have more steals than their opponent.
I think playing the magic will make for an interesting series because:
Sixers are a bad free throw shooting team, but the magic are worse.
Sixers starters got valuable playoff experience last year.
Iguodala already looks better in the post season than he did last year. I know it`s still too early to make a valid judgement, but let`s be serious here, he sucked a big one last year in the playoffs. If he plays better in this series, well…you know.
That game winning shot will boost his confidence even more, causing his balls to sag below his knees.
Ratliff is a good alternative center.
It seems as though Dileo figured out that Reggie Evan`s minutes should be reduced to less than 10 per game.
This year we have Donny Ice.
If the Sixers lose 4 straight.
And Iguodala is a combined 3-69 from the field, he’ll still have a better series than last year from this game alone.
