God, I would give anything for a gigantic Sixers win tonight.

I don’t care if they’re up 20 after one and 40 at the half and Kareem Rush plays PG the entire second half. I would be 100% OK with that. I would watch every second.

by Saul on Mar 22, 2009 5:37 PM PDT reply actions

I want to see a final of 120-65. I want the Kings to miss every single shot.

I don’t care if it’s the ugliest game in the history of basketball. I just want to see a big Sixers win. It feels like it’s been freaking forever.

by Saul on Mar 22, 2009 5:38 PM PDT up reply actions

Seriously.

Give me 18 minutes of K-Rush tonight.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 22, 2009 6:02 PM PDT up reply actions

And we're off.

This will give me a nice break from writing my Tupac speech.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 22, 2009 6:02 PM PDT reply actions

I'm writing a speech on why Tupac is still alive.

We had to do a persuasive speech, and the topic seemed fun. The problem is, it’s hard to find credible sources.

by Jordan Sams on Mar 22, 2009 6:06 PM PDT up reply actions

Of course he is.

He lives in a bunker under Tennessee with Elvis and John Lennon.

by Saul on Mar 22, 2009 6:10 PM PDT up reply actions

That should tell you something

Switch to elvis – more ‘uncredible’ sources

I forgot the game was on – watching iron chef

I’ve come to the conclusion that Kevin Martin and Spencer Hawes are complete a-holes when it comes to fans.

Why aren't we trying to run?

The Kings can’t do anything, and they CERTAINLY can’t run.

Plus – i feel old in this game discussion as I seem to be the only one who has graduated college which means the only one alive the last time the sixers won a title?

Never heard of Kobe until he was a senior, and I was out in California.
Basically heard about him because of Access HOllywood and taking brandy to the prom (and punking his high school girlfriend)

No one cares about basketball at lower merion – soccer and lacrosse matter

Is Thad destined to become a skilled scorer from the floor who will occasionally bang the boards… and not much else? That’s how he plays a lot of the time. Almost like Corey Maggette with better shot selection and less selfishness.

Only one thing to look at – look at where he is compared to last year – look at what he is better at – is the stuff he’s ‘bad’ at this year the same or is it new stuff – i.e. new flaws appear that he can work on – factor in that people now know he was coming – last year he was a bit of a surprise.

I didn’t start hating Sam or Willie until at least year 3 and because it was always the same things – no improvement

Econonmically it’s small – if you fator out the political aspect of being a state capital what else does Sacramento have going for it – hell San Jose could probably support this team just as well

Never happen

The Maloof’s dont want to leave. And as far as I’m concerned, having a small corporate base isn’t a bad thing. It’s not like those big corporations actually provide anything other than $$$$ to a team.

Fans root for a team; corporations bandwagon winning teams.

Do you somehow think it’s not about making money? Are you telling me something I don't already know?

Or do you think you have some newfound perspective I couldn’t possibly have had. I’m just curious. I’m aware of everything you’ve brought up. Between the snottery of people living in Socal towards Sac (like I ever give a damn—you don’t like it don’t come back the way I look at it), the expectation that the Maloof’s will jump ship over the dollar (which they would eventually), and the fact that they can make more money in Anaheim, is all crap.

Here’s something you don’t know. They own the land around Arco, and they own Arco. Which means they have 2 pieces of prime real estate in Sacramento? Does Ed Snider own Wachovia? I doubt it. I doubt he owns the land. Yeah, Snider is rich, and with the Flyers and all that, but he doesn’t own that type of land. The Maloof’s do. They have always recognized the opportunity to make that land work for them. Sorry, but Anaheim doesn’t have a billion dollar opportunity waiting for them. If they’r epatient enough, Sacramento potentially does.

Um – I know how much money the maloofs have – and their ownership structure

You seem to know nothing about the sixers ownership structure

they are owned by comcast – comcast has more money than the maloofs – trust me

Like chris rock said – there’s rich and then there’s wealth

The maloofs are rich

Comcast has wealth

I don’t care about the north south BS in california, i’m not a native, i think you’re all insecure and crazy…but if you don’t think the maloofs care about more money – you’re crazy – and if they don’t get permissi9on to build their new stadium – with state funds – they’re gone as soon as they can be.

And whose the chairman of Comcast? (Ed Snider.)

I don’t care about the North South BS of California either.

I never said the Maloof’s don’t care about money. I said they can make more in Sacramento than they can ANYWHERE else. But, tell me another city that has 20 acres of land that they own, and give them full access and rights to managing an arena, and umm, yeah, I’ll agree with you.

Beno’s contract isn’t great; it realy sucks, but on one hand, Beno will also be locked up for the next 3 years at a minimum, and 4 at the most, and if the Kings draft Rubio, than havin a backup PG, which is what Beno is, won’t be a problem. Provided Beno doesn’t sulk, which he will.

Hypothetically.

If we sucked in ’07 like we were supposed to, and got Durant, him and Iggy would be a sick combo.

Iguodala, 10-14

Shoot more ;)

Iggy played 35 mins

And not all of them were heavily taxed minutes either. They should be as fresh as any team could be in this situation for tomorrow’s game. Also, it’s not like the flight from Portland to Sacramento is excruciating either. Only takes about 2 hours commercially.

Take about 12 hours

Isn’t the hardest drive in the world, but then again, 12 hours is 12 hours.

BTW, last 10 games Thad averging 20+

Hope he can carry this through the rest of the year. The sooner he matures the better. The clock with Brand is ticking.

Thad's becoming a monster.

I’d say he’s a lock to average 20+ next year, but you never know when you throw Elton back in the mix.

I always thought it was a bad move for you guys

Not to be a know it all, but I think Brand screwed himself by trying to stick it to Sterling (along with listening to Falk).

One of the interesting things is if Philly can move him. Or if they can’t, how the next coach handles the daunting prospect of making a running team with a stick in the mud like Brand on the team work. (That’s one thing people generally failed to pick up on in Brand’s time in LA. He & Dunleavy were a match made in heaven system wise. Brand is a slow halfcourt player, and that’s Dunleavy’s system.)

20+ is a lot to ask

But I’m hoping he is their go to scorer soon rather than later. let him apply pressure on the defense and let it take some stress off of Iguodala and Brand.

To answer you're question about Brand...

I wanted Josh Smith. Once Brand happened, I talked myself into the signing. Then, after watching him play a handful of games with the team this season, I’d rather seen Stefanski stand pat last off-season.

It was the right move at the time though.

In some ways Speights was a better fit than any of the PF's available last summer

It almost would have been better to make a move towards getting a young elite PG. But Harris had already been traded.

Given there were no great options at PF

I would have tried to get Camby (for nothing like the Clips did) and go with him for 2 years. Then unload Sam, get a young PG and be one of the multitude with lots of cash in Summer 2010.

But the Sixers wuld have had a good young nucleus to go with the cap space. Most of the teams with cap space in 2010 have no talent on the team to attract a star who wants to win. The Sixers would have at least had Iguodala/Young/Speights/Williams.

Not quite the high as the Lakers win, but a win none the less.
