New Blog: Once A Metro covering Red Bull New York!

Wow. A co-worker of mine just showed me this. I'm about to leave work now. More on this later. As of right now, all I can say is I think this is in the best interest of Brand's future and the team's future.

Hat tip to Ridiculous Scott for the FanPost.

Today reports out that Amare will be moved by the deadline. Anyone else find the symmetry and irony of this painful? Amare is an ass, but the perfect fit for this team. Even healthy, Brand is not nearly the fit in terms of skellset and age that Amare is for this team.

Aside from the fact that there’s NO WAY that works under the cap -

miller/thad/evans works under the cap (i believe according to DF over there) – but would the suns and would the sixers…

And what the hell do you do with amare AND brand come next season?

by jemagee on Feb 5, 2009 4:03 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

i don't want brand anymore.

gimme amare. that’s the worst part about the injury is the fact that brand is now untradeable.

btw i’d do that trade in a heat beat.

Brand was never 100% in game shape and people are ready to write him off – then again people will calling for Iguodalas head at the beginning of the season as well

by jemagee on Feb 5, 2009 4:11 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I’m not writing him off, but even assuming he is a 100% to start next year (a reach) then he is now 29 and signed to a 4yr/67M deal with our good PG (Miller) likely replaced by a developmental one.

The Brand signing was hopefully going to give higher returns on the front end- and the 1st year/13M is now a full time Director and well dressed fan. I certainly don’t have high hopes for the final 2yrs/35M at age 32-34 as returning good value on the investment.

That’s why you trade miller now to get the assets to obtain a better than ‘developmental’ PG in the off season – regardless if he nets a PG himself

I agree they will have to trade Miller. Otherwise he just maintains his status as a band-aid ping pong ball killer.

As for the PG, who would that be?

I have no idea – how about renting steve nash for a season – he expires in 2010 – obtain the assets to make a move and then make a move – and this draft really only has depth at one position

by jemagee on Feb 5, 2009 5:56 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

and....?

why would the suns trade for miller when they have nash?

by Matt Millz on Feb 6, 2009 6:13 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

is this serious?

Why would any team consider taking Brand now? We’ll probably have to buy him out like Chris Webber.

by Matt Millz on Feb 6, 2009 6:11 AM PST reply actions   0 recs

If you read closely you’ll see that no one thought any team would take brand.

Then again, if you compare a separated shoulder to a guy not 30 yet to webbers microfracture knee surgery and old broken down body – not sure how to help you anyway
