Sixers at Knicks open thread 02/27/09

Philadelphia 76ers at New York Knicks, Feb 27, 2009 4:30 PM PST

Sorry about the lack of posts these past two days. Sometimes life happens. I'm going to take lonnnnnnnnnnng nap. Here's your game thread. I'll wake up just in time to see the Sixers build on their one game winning streak.

annnnd we're 12 minutes from tip

i’m actually excited to just sit down and relax for a couple hours.

plus, the knicks are always an entertaining matchup

by Jordan Sams on Feb 27, 2009 4:18 PM PST reply actions

hey jemagee what do you think of all these dawkins reports? So far i haven’t found anything conclusive. On the sixers end i hope they run the knicks out of the building but it will probably be a close one.

by Ben16 on Feb 27, 2009 4:25 PM PST reply actions

i think it'll be a fun game.

as for dawkins, i’m also interested for obvious reasons.

as fellow nfc-easters what do we all think about hanesworth?

by Jordan Sams on Feb 27, 2009 4:30 PM PST up reply actions

i get them taking him because he's arguably the best defensive player

but that team already was a top 10 defensive team who only averaged 16 points a game… why would they not use that money to get some offensive threats? plus 100 mil for one player who only plays 60% of defensive plays is a lot

by Tanner Steidel on Feb 27, 2009 4:36 PM PST up reply actions

btw i'm not an eagles, cowboys, or giants fan

so this opinion is not biased towards any of the other nfc east teams

by Tanner Steidel on Feb 27, 2009 4:39 PM PST up reply actions

i was actually really surprised to see that this morning

i haven’t followed any nfl off-season stuff. i didn’t even know the combine happened. it seems like free agency’s been pretty exciting so far. winslow, bart scott, vrabel, taylor, all pretty big names.

now dallas just needs to sign ray ray and we’ll be good to go.

by Jordan Sams on Feb 27, 2009 4:40 PM PST up reply actions

i agree but this is Snyder we are talking about. He also signed Dante Hall for a guaranteed 20 million or something like that. They need offensive weapons.

by Ben16 on Feb 27, 2009 4:43 PM PST up reply actions

I love it

I mean Haynesworth is great, but still, he goes out and tries to buy a championship. Isn’t there some saying about trying the same thing that doesn’t work over and over?

It took my two years to come up with an avatar and sig

2. marubury makes his debut tonight

Is there a web site devoted to clyde-isms?

"Someone created the box score," Morey says, "and he should be shot."

Blocked shots — they look great, but unless you secure the ball afterward, you haven’t helped your team all that much.

Someone go register frazierisms.com

Larry Hughes is a much more highly paid willie green – shoots a lot and sometimes gets hot – he draws fouls though

Do knicks fans know basketball? That was obviously a foul

For some reason – I always draft turnover prone teams – i have no idea why – but i lose turnovers like every week – every year

I forgot to set my roster one day this week – and that’s screwing me

by jemagee on Feb 27, 2009 6:08 PM PST up reply actions

My long term goal for my website is a more modern fantasy ball – were you factor in things like the per rating for the week – but i also want to work out ‘per minute’ scoring of some sort – so guys who are great but don’t get the minutes they deserve – are counted – makes strategy harder i think :)

It would make in season picks ups a lot more valuable :)

Maybe focus on /40 stats instead of just raw counting stats – i don’t know yet – it’s A LOT of work

well he lost the ball but it wasn’t a turnover since the sixers maintained possession – there’s something REAL wrong with him – like (just an example, i know nothing) dad had a heart attack right before the game bad

There’s a reason he’s been on so many teams
