Larry Brown ruined the Sixers

Larry Brown made the one move that have doomed the sixers for the past decade.  He drafted friggin Larry Hughes over Paul Pierce and Dirk.  If we had one of those players during our 2001 Run, we would have taken the Lakers.  So don't blame our sixers bad fortunes solely on AI, he did what he could with garbage for a decade.  I have some faith in the team we have now, theres alot of potential.  I'm just hoping Iverson can make another run with this group, because he was undeniably one of the most talented players in the past 20 years.  If he fails, im not gonna blame him for the sixers misfortune, that was larry brown and the organizations fault.  They have made some terrible moves since AI left, like signing Elton Brand to a max contract, imagine they could have spent that money on resigning Andre Miller.  So give AI a freakin break, he should have had pleanty of championships in his career but he was screwed over by the dumbasses in managment over its course.

so andre miller could have gotten us to the championship? It would take a lot more than retaining miller to get this team competitive again.

Having Dirk or PP would have been huge. Creepy is that over their careers they both average 22.8 PPG

It was 11 years ago, are you really that naive?

your question just seems out of place. i know it was 11 years still was a super dumb move when you don’t go and get what you need.

Actually, the premise is right, the rad did ruin the sixers, but he had help, and Ed Snider helped by not immediately firing the rat lap dog King when the rat jumped ship, by keeping him employed too long out of loyalty and not ‘cleaning house’ (roster wise) once the rat left.

Well

A team with both Dirk and Iverson in their primes would certainly have been interesting…

i thought the team with the flight brothers in their prime was pretty interesting too……..if you like alley-oops more than wins, (i’m on the fence)…

…Dirk would’ve been awesome. i would’ve found it difficult to be a pierce fan.

Why would you have found it difficult to be a pierce fan, one of the best of his generation.
