Longest win streak of the season...
Two games!!!
The Sixers are going to the playoffs. Whether that's a good thing or not remains to be seen. Eddie Jordan has officially turned them into a different version of the 2004 Washington Wizards. They're going to give up a lot of points but they're also going to score a lot of points. I must admit, I enjoy watching high-scoring games with no defense rather than low-scoring games with no offense, but the depressing thing is, the Sixers have a roster that is capable of both. Sigh. I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too. Fact: Eddie Jordan has sketchy substitution patterns. Fact: Eddie Jordan took over a team with an above average defense. Fact: that same team now has possibly the worst defense in the NBA. We're to the point in the season where we know what Eddie Jordan is all about. If he hasn't changed yet, he's not the change now and he's not going to change ever. We're just going to have to live with the fact that the Sixers hired a terrible coach. Were also going to have to live with another mediocre season, another playoff berth, another one and done, and another midteens draft pick. All things considered this team should be pretty fun to watch for the rest of the season, especially if you like offense. Think 2004 Washington Wizards and a poor man's Phoenix Suns combined. Since I'm on a roll with predictions (I predicted the Sixers would win by eight tonight and they won by 10.) I'm predicting 40 wins for this Sixers team barring any major injuries. One more thing I want to point out is the one player I want traded before the deadline. Bill Green? No. Samuel Dalembert? No. Elton Brand? No. Andre Iguodala? No. Thaddeus Young? Yes! Ahh everyone's golden child. Thaddeus does one thing kind of well, and that's scoring. Everything else he kind of sucks at. I don't think he's ever going to be an elite scorer and since he's not good at anything else I don't see the need to invest the team's future in him. He seems to be finding himself on the bench more often than not, so why not shop him along with a bad contract such as Elton Brand or Samuel Dalembert for some combination of draft picks, young players that feel a need, or expiring contracts? I'm honestly all for trading anyone on the roster except for Jrue Holiday and Marreese Speights. I love Andre Iguodala which is why I wouldn't mind seeing him traded. His prime years are going to be wasted away on this mediocre team. So, this recap really had nothing to do with tonight's game besides the fact that the win sparked my weekly "We're always going to be mediocre!" rant. Double sigh. First-round exit here we come. Hey, at least we are on TNT tomorrow.

I’m not sure how three players play in the back court at the same time…but sure, I’m sure a lot of people like a back court of Iverson and Williams
I have a word for such people

I still think it’s wayyyyy too early to close the book on Thad. He’s 21. Iguodala was 21 as a rookie, and everybody said he was never gonna be able to handle the ball or shoot. He’s now a very solid ball handler (especially for a 2-3) and even though he’s not Ray Allen out there, his jumper is coming along. Thad will get bigger, smarter, and harness his abilities. You don’t want to give up on this kid so soon.
He needs to be bitch slapped and learn how to rebound – did he rebound at g tech his one year.
When Jack Nicholson talked about what Gotham needed, he was alaso referring to the 2009/2010 Sixers (if you don’t know what that is, for shame on you, your cinematic education sucks)

People were not paying attention to Iguodala when he was drafted cause Iverson was still here
and he’s still complete mis understood
Tha’s basketball fundamentals and IQ are very poor – that’s concerning

Thad rebounded well last night. He still is finding his way, and Jordan isn’t helping him, asking him to play the 4 starting against bigger stronger players. He runs the floor like a gazelle, and he can shoot.
A 2 game win streak is nothing except when you’re continually loosing like the Sixers. Although I’m encouraged a couple of things still concern me.
Eddie Jordan’s rotations are clueless. If he can find a way to field a group of 2nd stringers on the floor that is good enough to stay close we could win more than 40 games. If he keeps doing it, were going to lose some we shouldn’t. Hint: If the other team is pulling away, you have a bad group on the floor.
On defense Eddie is actually screaming from the sidelines and pulling players who make mistakes. Maybe he doesn’t care about defense, but he is holding the players accountable all of a sudden.
A real positive last night was the emergence of Rodney Carney as a quality bench player. When Willie comes back healthy, we won’t have to worry too much about Jason Kapono and Royal Ivey.
The Clippers took it to the Sixers in Phila. and Kamen and Camby were too much for Brand and Speights. If there is a difference this time, it will come from the guards and forwards. Baron Davis is a load, but I’d rather have Iverson, Williams and Holiday than Barron.
rodney carney
rodney carney is absoluetely pathetic. last night was a fluke performance… i have no idea why the sixers picked him back up and i have no idea how rod is in the nba. just because he had a good college career this league is sticking onto him.

other than rodney carney being a clown… u made some good points

Carney is an athlete who learned how to play basketball well enough to be an NBA player. He is more potential than anything else, but he can run the floor, jump out of the building and has learned how to be something of a dead-eye spot-up shooter with three-ball range. If he works hard on his game and continues to study it he can be a career NBA player. He’s a good sized small forward, and a much better alternative than Kapono!
