Some notes up to the first time out
Baron Davis – doing whatever he wants, whether guraded by Jrue or Andre
Sam Dalembert had an embarrassing sequence that started with the worst post up move I’ve ever seen leading to his second and third fouls in under 6 minutes of the first quarter (why jordan left him in after second is question) – Speights first off the bench.
Fox SPorts felt the need to play the ‘practice’ video in their pre game – i hate ralph lawler – dude is bad.
Clippers should be working kaman more – dude could dominate the sixers weak defending big men.
Iguodala and Jrue are cold offensively and the sixers are giving up too many second chances.

After that first tv time out, lou made his first appearance coming in for Jrue and Brand came in for Iguodala
Lou Willie back court should never happen – would rather have seen willie sit.
Speights and Willie don’t feel like making an effort to get back in transition after willie misses a lay up that should have gone ini – easy clipper basket.
Elton Brand may have lift problems, but he’s still good, and if Kaman is guarding him should get the ball every time down the court cause he can have his way with him in the post every damn time

When AI comes back...Jrue and AI should be starters
Lou is NOT a point guard! He is more of a Shooting Guard…a scorer! He has a shoot first mentality. Yes AI tends to be the same way, but he also does look to get his teammates involved!! Jrue is a true point who is very unselfish and looks to dish the ball to his teammates. Lou should come off the bench! Why not try this for a while and see what happens! It can’t be worse than anything Jordan does!
"... You play to win the game. Hello? You play to win the game. You don't play it to just play it. That's the great thing about sports: you play to win..."
Iverson isn’t a point guard either
It should be Iguodala and Holiday now and until now

That's what Im sayin
Jrue at PG and AI at SG. Id mentioned AI becuz ppl will argue “well AI’s a PG and he has a shoot first mentality”. Ha, I just said if for those individuals! Point is Jrue should be Starting PG and AI starting SG and Lou come off the Bench as a SG and Green..well…guess he’d have to back up Jrue. If it isnt him then it would have to be Ivey…Yikes, dont want that now do we haha
"... You play to win the game. Hello? You play to win the game. You don't play it to just play it. That's the great thing about sports: you play to win..."
Allen Iverson if that’s the AI you are referring to SHOULD NOT START on this team – if people would jsut use NAMES instead of intitials it would be easier…he didn’t STOP being AI when he left Philadlephia

Yea idk about that!

LOL

So lou’s first moments and plays on the court – not so good
After two made free throws he runs up the court and trys to pass it to Iguodala but throws it away – takes 4 seconds.
Near the end of the quarter Iguodala finds him for wide open look at the 3 – terrible shot.
No one on the sixers – including Holiday seems able to guard Baron Davis
Willie Green has now played 3 straight quarters without rest – Iguodala and Holiday have rested after last nights entire second half – willie has not – coach jordan is still an idiot.
Weak rebounding in the first quarter to

Nice energetic start to the 2nd quarter, some aggressive better defense, lasts about 3 minutes.
Holiday, Iguodala, Brand, Kapono, Spieghts the five to start the 2nd – ick
If speights showed the energy defensively he shows offensively he’d be a freaking all star
Holiday needs to learn when to shoot and when not – many ill advised shots tonight – but he’s 19

Another reason Holiday/Iguodala is a nice back court is that they both have phenomenal court vision…

I’m trying really hard to sit through this entire game, but the water of mars is on at 6 and will be a lot less painful to watch I’m sure.
Lawler and Mike Smith both had some interesting anecdotes about Moses Malone, not as a player, but as a coach, a smart basketball mind who knows what he’s talkinga bout and will gett in peoples faces – this is a guy the sixers need to bring back to smack speights around – no idea why he’s no longer working for the sixers.
A ‘3 point specialist’ shouldn’t air ball a WIDE OPEN LOOK Jason Kapono – you putz

A
Mike Smith of the clipper broadcast was talking about how Speights was part of the BACK TO BACK in Florida and how he was so unheralded but seemed to be a key part in 2 NCAA titles…I found that information fascinating….
Secondly, one thing I noticed about Cole Aldrich today that just angers me watching the sixers, as soon as a shot goes up on the defensive end…he almost immediately got into position to box out, he didn’t leak out, he didn’t stand around like a putz, he sees the shot go up and positions himself to grab the rebound.
Watching the sixers mockery of a defense just demonstrates how bad some SERIOUS coaching in the fundamentals of basketball is needed for the ‘centers’ on this team,

No one on the sixers can stop Baron Davis
Chris Kaman is having his way with this team – on the defensive glass the sixers are pathetic
Am I the only one who is irritated every time speights makes offense look so easy – since he makes defense look like something that doesn’t exist in basketball.
The clippers blew a 16 point lead at the half against New York last night, I doubt they blow a 13 point lead tonight.
I am waiting for the people to come make excuses about how the celtics game took so much out of the sixers tonight you couldn’t expect them to win
by jemagee on Dec 19, 2009 5:35 PM PST reply actions
Kaman a double double in the first half
If Dunleavy didn’t rest Baron Davis so much he probably would have had one too
Two guys on the clips have 10 rebounds, and the sixers have SUCKED on the defensive glass

Sam picks up his fifth (takes less than 4 minutes of the 3rd to get 2 more fouls) after his inability to catch leads him to basically smack eric gordon.
Mike Smith of Fox Sports tells us that all of sam’s fouls tonight were stupid fouls.
When AREN’T sams fouls stupid fouls?
by jemagee on Dec 19, 2009 5:57 PM PST reply actions
Thad runs a fast break all on his lonesome much better in the 3rd quarter than he did in the first half – and the sixers are within 3.
Once sam sat they got much better…
by jemagee on Dec 19, 2009 6:01 PM PST reply actions
That was a great offensive rebound by Speights but a real stupid move to go back up when he had no angle.
I wonder – is Dunleavy a worse second half coach than Eddie Jordan?
by jemagee on Dec 19, 2009 6:15 PM PST reply actions
The clippers forgot about chris kaman in the 3rd quarter, he started with 18 points, and 10 boards, finishes with 20 points and 10 boards…
Davis only had 3 points in the 3rd – i’m not saying the sixers played good defense, but hey
by jemagee on Dec 19, 2009 6:18 PM PST reply actions
The clippers really aren’t a good team :)
Their coach sucks pretty bad too

The clippers are nicely giving the game back to the sixers…sixers up 2.
Dear Eddie Jordan
Start Elton Brand

If the sixers win folks – thank chris kaman for getting 3 fouls early in the third and taking himself out of the 3rd quarter

Weren’t there people who wanted Al Thornton over Thaddeus Young?
by jemagee on Dec 19, 2009 6:28 PM PST reply actions
still are, fortunately for us, Thad is still 21, while Thornton is already 38
by Michael Levin on Dec 19, 2009 6:56 PM PST up reply actions
So Speights makes the ‘vet’ move to get Kaman out of the game
But why don’t the Clippers post Camby
And why doesn’t speights pass, like ever?

GO-TO Guy
except for last possession which should go to andre like so.

I turned it off because I assumed he got the shot off in time – it looked like it was off in time – ah well

We didn’t do what worked for us at the end of regulation; we stopped going to Brand and Speights (although Speights got some touches) and settled for Iguodala jumpers.
Lou should not have come in for Young. ESPECIALLY not in his first game back. Terrible coaching once again, as usual. I don’t know if that’s why they lost, but I know who I’m gonna blame— Thanks Eddie Jordan.
Shouldn’t have been so close. Thought the Sixers were better than this. Have to give the Clippers credit for hanging tough, especially after Kamen went out. We were short one good player tonight, as Lou was a little rusty and Jrue didn’t make a shot. Very annoyed that we aren’t seeing any of Jason Smith, I really think he should be part of the rotation, maybe give Young a chance to play some three.
Note that it was my idea of a starting lineup that led the comeback, with Speights, Brand, Young, Iguodala and Williams. Unfortunately I think they spent too much time on the floor at the end, considering they played yesterday, This can be blamed on Jordan, who seems to have no idea of how to rest his players while maintaining continuity.
Too bad, but a good lesson for the Sixers, they need more from everyone. Speights 28-9 Brand 14-3. Good point production, but we lost the battle of the boards tonight. Kamen was very tough and so was Camby. Better shooting, or more rebounding would have helped a lot. I thought the Clippers got a lot of cheap scores. Cheap fouls too.
As Lou gets healthy, it will get better, shame the Sixers lost this one.
. Have to give the Clippers credit for hanging tough,
“Hanging tough” in a game in which they had a double digit lead at half time.
You’re a fascinating study
