The best chance by far for the sixers to end this terrible streak.

D

If the sixers play defense they will win since the warriors do not believe in anything called Defense.

Wonder

if it’s

1) Eddie Jordan trying crap again
2) Tonight’s matchup against GSW
3) Preparing team for Lou Will’s return with 1 legitimate big man

As a Brand fan, I would have liked to have seen Elton get the start tonight at center. For crying out loud, it’s Mikki Moore.

It’s Eddie Jordan being crap

by jemagee on Dec 14, 2009 3:48 PM PST up reply actions

yeah woulda been nice to see Sammy suffer. He makes me sufer on the reg.

by joe_digiacomo on Dec 14, 2009 3:48 PM PST up reply actions

I disagree

I believe this will be #13 of the losing streak. I also wasted my ticket tonight again, not worth paying for parking and bridge tolls to see Eddie Jordan lose another game.

I think being able to heckle Sam Dalembert for sucking in such a cavernous arena would be fun…

by jemagee on Dec 14, 2009 3:53 PM PST up reply actions

Who thinks they snap their losing streak tonite! Id say 50 /50 shot!!

Wont matter though! We are just a bad team with an HORRENDOUS coach!!

Looks like I wont be able to watch the game!

Well this is just BS. I swear, if we win and I dont get to witness it..ahh BS!

Imagine that

Brand comes in and right away shows that GSW can’t guard him.

Jrue

Is a great on-ball defender already, it’s amazing. If he gets better at team defense he’ll be a stud all around on the defensive end.

by Slizeezyc on Dec 14, 2009 4:39 PM PST reply actions

Sixers get to play a different style of basketball tonight, and should win easily, since the Sixers love to run and force turnovers. They shouldn’t run out of gas tonight since they don’t have to work too hard to get their shots and don’t need to work too hard defending the Warriors.

Brand was out simply because Eddie wanted a running game and thought Brand + Dalembert would be too slow. This is one game where it doesn’t matter, Thad is a better rebounder than anyone on GS.

by RickoT on Dec 14, 2009 4:46 PM PST reply actions

Thad is a horrible rebounder which makes that kind of funny

Ad the sixers will most likely blow this game in the third quarter

by jemagee on Dec 14, 2009 5:08 PM PST up reply actions

Thads rebounding has been improving but youre right he isnt too good (at rebounding)

by jshilz7 on Dec 14, 2009 5:13 PM PST up reply actions

I love Jrue being more aggressive offensively.

Thad has freed the beast from within!!! 23 pts!

by guitarmouse35 on Dec 14, 2009 5:18 PM PST reply actions

Golden State is really a farm team. They can’t compete against any team that has inside scorers. All they do is shoot from the outside and try to steal the ball.

Note I didn’t say Thad was a good rebounder, simply better than anyone on GS. It is funny, but it’s also pretty sad. Thad is also a better scorer than anyone on GS, against that defense he’s all the post up offense you need!

by RickoT on Dec 14, 2009 5:19 PM PST reply actions

The warrios have a better roster than the sixers, just a worse coach

And I thought you knew what you were talking about.

by RickoT on Dec 14, 2009 5:58 PM PST up reply actions

Keep in mind ricko also thinks he knows what he’s talking about.

How many injured players were the Warriors missing tonight?
How many injured head coaches?
How many games had they played on their east coast road trip.

HOW GOOD IS JRUE HOLIDAY

Hey hows it lookn guys! Im not able to watch the game today! Fill me in Please

I think it’s because willie green is injured (he is) that jrue is playing…don’t read too much into jordan getting a clue

Oh yeah. Forgot about the Cowboys, went from first to third in the Division in December. Can’t wait ’till they limp into Phila. to be whipped like the sorry dogs they are.

AI and Jrue

i really liked the looks of the AI and Jrue starting backcourt. the pace of the game is so much better

by cmg on Dec 14, 2009 5:53 PM PST reply actions

This is nice to see. Jrue and Thad are getting minutes and significantly producing.

by Michael Levin on Dec 14, 2009 5:58 PM PST reply actions

it’s a good thing monta didn’t mess with jrue’s psyche (sorry i had to)

by Tanner Steidel on Dec 14, 2009 6:02 PM PST up reply actions

Mikki Moore messed with Elton’s psyche — that’s why Eddie didn’t start him

by Michael Levin on Dec 14, 2009 6:20 PM PST up reply actions

Man this stinks...I can't watch my team pull out a win! Ahhh

Member when AI (original) said that “I was tellin the guys, when we get DO get that win, it will be one of the toughest games we have to play!” Hmm…lookn at the score, doesn’t look to tough!!

Bench

What a difference it makes when your bench contributes more than nothing.

IGGY

is he desperate to score some points or what?

by cmg on Dec 14, 2009 6:19 PM PST reply actions

57-26 on the boards so far. That’ll work.

by Michael Levin on Dec 14, 2009 6:21 PM PST reply actions

How about Brand 11 pts. and 6 boards in 16 min. He could have had 30 and 20 tonight if Eddie gave him the minutes.

by RickoT on Dec 14, 2009 6:21 PM PST reply actions

I think he deserves more minutes, but he honestly kinda messes up the pace of the game

by cmg on Dec 14, 2009 6:22 PM PST up reply actions

As long as we’re controlling the pace, I don’t give a rat’s ass. Busting teams by pounding it inside is something that good teams do. Ride Brand and let him give you 25 a night and then tell me how that hurts the Sixers. We know how to run, we just need to make teams more scared to play us in the halfcourt. That means Brand and Speights and even Dalembert, posting up, drawing fouls, passing for easy outside shots.

by RickoT on Dec 14, 2009 6:33 PM PST up reply actions

wait – what does it mean when the sixers have more points than the other team to end a game? i have not seen this situation before it’s puzzling me

by Tanner Steidel on Dec 14, 2009 6:32 PM PST reply actions

Perfect Storm

EJ got to play against a midget team missing key bigs and their coach at the very end of a long losing road trip. Hence, +33 on the glass and an easy win. Still gave up 50% from deep, so no schematic fix to point towards. Jordan was lucky enough to find the one team his squad can bully while playing small and who reinforced that by running out of gas in the 3rd.

by MojoPharoah on Dec 14, 2009 6:59 PM PST reply actions

Good points, particularly how the Sixers stopped scoring at the same clip once the third quarter rolled around. Even with their bigs we would have bullied them, Brand is a genuine wide-body.

Can’t worry too much about the three’s the Warriors shoot 90% of their shots from outside and you can’t cover them all. More concerned about the free throws, how do they get to shoot more when they play outside and the Sixers score inside?

by RickoT on Dec 14, 2009 7:07 PM PST up reply actions

The Sixers stopped driving in the 2nd half. And their 1st half scoring was spearheaded by a guy whose offensive moves are predicated on getting avoiding the defense, not going through it. Plus, Dre wasn’t getting calls when he drove anyway.

That being said, Jordan’s emphasis on the mid-range game vs Mo’s commitment to attacking the paint at all costs really is the difference. Mo’s approach reminded me somewhat of John Chaney and Larry Brown, who were the 1st coaches I really can recall who regularly discussed the goal of making more free throws then the opponent attempted.

Jordan, OTOH, likes his shots from 15 ft to come from the field, not the line

LOL

you ALWAYZ want ur team to win..but….Was it Worth It??!

Love the Win

But the way I see it..the Warriors just potentially screwed us on a better ping pong pick! Ha
